The crossover has 3 engines in the lineup. Both gasoline and diesel engines complying with Euro-6 standards are available to the buyer.

- The next gasoline engine is the same technically. This is a 3.3-liter naturally aspirated V6 that produces 250 horses. A torque of 317 H*m is available only at high speeds, unlike other manufacturers.
- The only diesel internal combustion engine in the car line is a 4-valve 2-liter engine with direct injection. The unit produces 200 horsepower and 441 units of torque. The dynamics are extremely weak - more than 9 seconds of acceleration and 203 km/h maximum speed. City driving requires 10 liters of diesel fuel; on the highway you will need 6 liters.
All three engines comply with Euro 6 standards and are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The car has all-wheel drive, which allows it to show good off-road performance.
The suspension characteristics are quite good for off-road use; the car is equipped with a fully independent suspension. At the rear it is multi-link, and at the front there are struts. In Russia, only all-wheel drive models can be found on sale. In general, the suspension is typical for modern crossovers: it is short-travel and rigid, and the ground clearance is very low (185 mm).

The model has a huge 7-seater interior with excellent quality materials and good assembly. The front row received comfortable leather seats with electrically adjustable heating and ventilation. There is enough space in the front, but there could be more water in the back. By the way, rear passengers will get two 12V sockets. - L is a new model for the current year. Now it is the base for the entire Sorento series. The package includes a lot of amenities, such as a six-speed automatic transmission, a high-quality audio system with six speakers, which can be controlled by connecting an external device. Wheels made of lightweight material are also included, and the seats are trimmed with a pleasant-to-touch fabric;
- LX is the second most popular trim level. Previously it was considered basic, but the crisis is making its own adjustments. It has all the features of the previous version, plus the Kia Uvo touch screen audio system, heated front seats, an ergonomic sunroof and front fog lights. The proposed engine is a 3.3-liter V6 Lambda, the car can be all-wheel drive or only front-wheel drive;
- EX – in this configuration, leather seats are standard, which is already nice. The ability to heat the seats, beautiful alloy wheels with black inserts, foglights - all this is standard for this option. The EX Premium Package adds the Infinity sound system, combined with the familiar Kia Uvo. And thanks to the presence of a third row of seats, the car is very roomy. The car comes standard with a two-liter turbocharged I4 engine. However, the V6 Lambda also remains an available option. Power of 240 horses makes the Kia Sorrento EX a very unusual crossover;
- SX – today this equipment is the last one before the highest level. It includes a smart key, Infinity sound system, heating, leather interior and everything else. The base engine is a V6, but you can choose from optional offerings. It comes with an excellent navigation system plus a touch screen. Probably, in the future this particular option will occupy the “top” set;
- Limited – the highest level of prestige, premium class, the highest possible basic set. Previously called SX Limited. Includes an interior trimmed with Nappa - the best automotive leather in the world, the front seats are heated and ventilated, the rear seats are only heated. A luxurious sunroof that allows you to enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding area. The engine can be chosen: turbocharged I4 or V6. Previously, this Kia equipment was called SX Limited and its fans should hurry up, because already in 2017 this name will become part of automotive history.
As you can see, even in the simplest configurations, this crossover has something to surprise and delight the buyer.

Interior of the new Kia

Kia Sorento is a mid-size crossover from the Korean company Kia Motors. It was presented at the Chicago Auto Show in the winter of 2002. The name Sorento comes from Sorrento, an Italian resort town. It was introduced in mid-2002 at the Chicago Auto Show. It started selling that same year. In the lineup, the Sorento slots between the smaller Sportage and the full-size Mohave.

First generation (2002-2010)
Kia Sorento BL
The first generation Sorento is a frame SUV. The car was introduced in mid-2002 and has been on the European market since then.
2006-2009
Modernization took place in 2006. The design was changed and more powerful engines were added. In total, almost 900 thousand first-generation Sorento cars were produced.
2009-2010
In 2008, the Sorento underwent another update. The radiator grille has been changed. In August 2008, sales of the updated model began in Canada, and in April 2009 in the USA.
Since 2007, large-knot (SKD) assembly has been established at the IzhAvto plant in Russia, and since 2008, small-knot assembly (CKD). Second generation (2009 to present)
Kia Sorento XM
The new Kia Sorento was presented at the Seoul Motor Show in April 2009; sales of this model in Russia started on September 10, 2009. A total of 1,475 cars were sold in 2009.
Designed by Peter Schreyer. A completely new monocoque body was developed, providing enough space for seven people, while it was decided to abandon the frame structure of the previous generation.
A new diesel engine has also been developed to meet Euro 5 emissions standards, producing 197 hp. and a torque of 435 Nm.

In 2013, the Sorento underwent a restyling. For the updated crossover, upgraded engines are offered: petrol 2.4 (175 hp) and two diesel engines – 2.0 (150 hp) and 2.3 (197 hp).
The crossover received new headlights with LED side lights, new taillights with LEDs, an updated false radiator grille with a neat chrome plastic frame, a new front bumper with modified geometry and enlarged slots for additional air ducts, a new rear bumper with reflective rectangular reflectors with a vertical arrangement, as with the front additional fog lights.
The car, according to representatives of the manufacturer, has better handling, is able to provide greater comfort for its passengers and is aimed at higher safety characteristics. Consumers have the opportunity to install 19-inch alloy wheels.
Third generation (2014 to present)

In 2014, the third generation Sorento was shown at the Paris Motor Show. In Russia the car is called Sorento Prime.
Models
In the United States, as of 2016, the third generation Kia Sorento is offered in five trim levels:
- L represents the new and basic model. For 2016, it offers an I4 2.4L Gdi engine with 190 hp. with a six-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive. Standard features include an A/MF/M radio with a single-disc CD player and six speakers, as well as input jacks for an auxiliary audio device, as well as an iPod or other USB device, and can be controlled from the radio in the Sorento UM. SIRIUS satellite radio is also standard, as is Bluetooth and A2DP STEREO streaming audio. Also included are alloy wheels and fabric seating surfaces.
- LX was previously the base model, and is currently the 2nd tier. The EX Premium Package adds features such as an Infinity sound system, navigation system, HD radio and more.
- SX is the 4th level and stands before the “top” configuration. The trim offers a V6 engine as standard. A navigation system comes standard, as does HD Radio and an Infinity sound system. Push-button with smart key is also standard.
- Limited (formerly known as SX Limited) is the top trim level. The trim offers the same I4 engine standard and a V6 engine optional on EX and SX models. Nappa leather seats are standard, as are heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. A panoramic sunroof is also standard, as are chrome alloy wheels. The 5-seat SX Limited has been discontinued for 2017.
