Renault Logan vs Sandero Stepway: choosing the optimal configuration. Thin edges: comparison of Renault Logan and Renault Sandero Logan and Sandero comparison

The brainchild of the French automaker Renault Logan and Sandero, as well as the Renault Sandero Stepway model, are in good demand due to their affordable price, functionality and reliability. At the same time, Logan is the base model for Renault Sandero. They differ in the type of supporting body: Logan is a standard sedan, and Renault Sandero is a five-door hatchback. In this article we will try to compare all the models, find out their characteristics, and find out what is their difference.

brief information

Each model that was taken for comparison, despite its small age, was regularly modified. If you compare the first generation of cars, you can find significant differences. The second generation that came off the assembly line became unified, consolidating common features in its appearance.

The first car of the Logan brand was released in 2005, Renault Sandero was put into production starting in 2008 and it immediately won the hearts of motorists and earned respect among experts. Both brands received a presentable appearance and were equipped in accordance with the latest trends of our time. They were also quite economical in terms of fuel, which put them in a leading position compared to their competitors. In general, their characteristics are at a fairly high level, and their comparison is very difficult.

Next, we will consider in detail the similarities and differences between the first two generations. At the same time, in 2009 Renault Logan underwent some changes regarding the appearance and interior. However, all cars produced between 2005-2013 belong to the initial generation.

First generation of Renault models

Both Renault models are representatives of economy class cars. The interior decoration is made of inexpensive plastic. Other elements of the interior are based on the same concept. Maintenance of the machines is affordable and they are quite unpretentious in operation. Almost all types of repairs can be performed without resorting to the services of a car service. The appearance of the first cars was not particularly impressive. It was rough and done in a seasoned style. This primarily concerned the first modifications of Renault Logan.

What's in the cabin

The interior is impossible to compare, because the front of both models is absolutely the same, from the edging of the door openings and seat lines to the front console. True, there is one difference that is not immediately visible, this is the presence of a pocket for glasses in the ceiling space of the Renault Logan.

There was also a minus, which was recorded by reviews of car enthusiasts and the opinion of specialists, this was the inconvenient location of the signal button on two models. To give a signal, it was necessary to feel the horn in the steering column space behind the lever. Inconveniences also arose when turning on the climate control due to the power button being blocked by the gearbox handle. The button (on the central panel) for the power windows on the rear doors is irrationally placed.

Engines of Renault models

How does one motor differ from another? Nothing. The power plants on Renault Sandero and Logan are the same. There are three options: 1.4 liters with a power of 75 horsepower and 1.6 liters with 84 hp. and 102 hp The latest engine has 16 valves. The entire line of two models was equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Performance characteristics and dimensions

The dimensions of the cars, if compared, are also different. Their difference is due to different body types. Logan is 230 mm longer than Renault Sandero, whose parameter is 4020 mm. The width of Logan is 1760 mm, and that of Sandero is 1746 mm. The height of the Sandero will be higher than its competitor with the following ratio of 1535 mm to 1470 mm, respectively, not in favor of the sedan. Renault Logan also wins in terms of luggage compartment capacity at 510 liters versus 320 liters for Renault Sandero, almost the same as Renault Sandero Stepway. But folding the rear seat backs results in a better figure for the hatchback and amounts to 1200 liters.

The difference, and more than one, can be seen by measuring the longitudinal distance between the wheel axles. Renault Logan has a wheelbase of 2600 mm with a ground clearance of 150 mm, and Renault Sandero has a wheelbase of 2588 mm with a higher ground clearance of 155 mm.

If you want to save on fuel, this will help you.

Second generation cars

The second generation of Renault Logan and Sandero, as well as the Renault Sandero Stepway, began to be produced starting in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In terms of exterior, the cars are more similar to each other, unlike the previous generation. The appearance has become more modern and reflects the latest trends in the automotive industry. If you compare, now you can’t tell by appearance that the sedan and hatchback belong to the economy class. The body began to look more sporty, which led to an increase in demand for these representatives of the French auto giant. Renault Logan also offered to the market a new version of the car in the form of a station wagon.

All about the interior

The inside of the car has been significantly transformed. What is the difference? The finishing has become of higher quality both in terms of material and level of equipment. Most previously irrational decisions have been eliminated. The horn began to be located in the center of the steering wheel. Another difference: the instrument console has turned out to be more informative for the driver and more convenient when reading information due to the favorable location of the instruments.
The interior of the two brands, regardless of generation, is quite identical, with virtually no visible differences. And there is actually nothing to compare it with.

Power plants and their characteristics

The range of engines in the Renault Logan is more representative than that of the Renault Sandero. In addition to the basic 1.2 and 1.6 engines, Renault Logan can also offer a 1.5 liter diesel engine and three variations of a 1.6 liter petrol engine, producing 80, 82 and 102 hp.
The second generation Renault Sandero is equipped with three power units with similar volume parameters of 1.2 liters per 75 hp. and a volume of 1.6 liters for 82 hp and 102 hp. respectively.

Characteristics of operating data and dimensions

The length of the new Logan modification is 4346 mm, and the Renault Sandero is slightly shorter due to the body type with an indicator of 4080 mm. But the hatchbacks of the Renault Sandero model range are 24 mm wider in width than the Logans (1757 mm to 1733 mm). In terms of height, the Sandero line, like the Renault Sandero Stepway, turned out to be the same, about 1523 mm versus 1517 mm for the Logans. The ground clearance for both vehicles is identical and is 155 mm.

Hatchbacks have a wheelbase of 2589 mm, while sedans have a wheelbase of 2634 mm.

Based on the results, it can be noted that deciding on the best option among the compared cars is problematic. This is due to the fact that they are practically indistinguishable in appearance and technical equipment. This also implies identity in operational indicators. The deciding factor in your choice may be the area of use. A sedan from Renault will feel good in city traffic, and a hatchback is an ideal option for trips out of town or on a picnic with a small load. The differences from each other are minimal.

Wait three years for the promised one? In the case of Logan and Sandero, there are only two: they were first shown back in September 2016 under the European brand Dacia. Soon there were versions with the Renault logo for Turkey and, but we had to wait much longer. What has changed in Russian cars produced by AvtoVAZ? Alas, not so much.

At the front, our Logan and Sandero repeat the Ukrainian versions: they have a new bumper and radiator grille, C-shaped LED running lights have appeared in the headlights, and they are even included in the basic configuration. But the rear of Tolyatti sedans and hatchbacks, unlike versions for other countries, remained untouched.

Almost the only new thing in the cabin is a three-spoke steering wheel with a different design, although there are no more buttons on it: there is still an additional audio system control panel on the steering column. The cup holder located between the backs of the front seats is now wider and deeper, and in addition, on all versions except the base one, an additional 12-volt outlet has appeared in the rear of the cabin.

A coolant temperature indicator appeared on the trip computer display. The turn signals now have the function of flashing three times when you lightly touch the steering column stalk. And another long-awaited new thing is the gas tank flap with a remote opening system from the passenger compartment (the lever is located next to the driver’s seat), which made it possible to eliminate the need for a lock on the cap. Brown (Brun Vision) has been added to the body color palette, and new 15-inch Symphonie alloy wheels have also appeared in the range.

The 1.6-liter engines are the same: an eight-valve engine (82 hp) and a 113-horsepower sixteen-valve engine are paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and cars with an old four-speed automatic transmission are equipped with an older 16-valve engine with a capacity of 102 hp. .

The set of trim levels has not changed, but their names are now the same as those of the Renault Kaptur crossover. As before, only the entry version is called Access, and now it includes central locking with remote control. The Confort and Active trim levels have been combined into one Life, and now it includes a passenger airbag (previously you had to pay an additional 2,990 rubles for it). The Privilege variant was renamed Drive, and Luxe Privilege was changed to Style. The top version is now standardly equipped with a stabilization system (previously - for an additional payment of 12 thousand rubles).

Logans after restyling increased in price by 9-13 thousand rubles, and Sandero increased by 5-12 thousand. Dealers are already accepting orders; the cars will appear with them by the end of July.

But the renewal of the Russian family is not finished yet! At the end of August, the company will show the restyled Renault Sandero Stepway at the Moscow Motor Show. According to preliminary information, he will be accompanied by

Car enthusiasts often ask themselves the question: what should they choose – Logan or Sandero, and which configuration should they prefer? Let's consider this issue using the example of two cars at once.

After updating the appearance two years ago, all modifications of Renault Logan, including Autentique 1.4, acquired several not very noticeable, but quite important advantages, the main one of which was enlarged mirrors, which were previously the privilege of only Prestige. Another plus is the excellent door handles, which, unfortunately, are only available on the front doors, and a more comfortable steering wheel.

The most noticeable differences in the Prestige and Expression trim levels– this is the finishing of the center console edging and air vents with silver plastic and completely different seat upholstery. In addition, the Renault Expression features a distinctive two-tone front panel.

Sandero or Logan?

However, the time has come for a more detailed analysis. So, on one side there is a Renault Logan 1.4 Expression with a manual transmission and additional options, including: a climate control system, an ABS system, two airbags and metallic paint. As a result, the cost is 411,800 rubles. In contrast, the Renault Sandero 1.6 Prestige with automatic transmission was installed at a price of 534,000 rubles. Only the cost of the Stepway off-road modification with an automatic transmission and a 16-valve engine is higher. If we compare Logan and Sandero with a similar level of equipment, then for a hatchback you will have to pay an additional 10,000 rubles. What are the differences? And what would you like to see in Renault Logan?

The main difference, of course, is the luggage compartment. The Renault Logan has almost twice as much cargo space as the Sandero, which is 510 and 320 liters respectively. However, if the trunk of a hatchback can be quite easily increased to 1320 liters, then with a sedan you will still have to tinker a lot, since the backrest of the rear sofa does not fold, but is completely removed, for which, naturally, you will need the appropriate tool. However, this is not enough to move large cargo, since the metal crossbars will also need to be removed. Between them it will be possible to place only sports equipment or building materials.

The luggage compartment of the Renault Sandero is more convenient not only with the folding backrests of the rear sofa, but also with a handle for closing the door, while in the Logan the cargo compartment must be closed by grasping bare metal with a rather sharp edge. However, Renault Logan has a significant advantage in the volume and convenient location of a full-size spare wheel, while the Sandero has a spare wheel mounted under the bottom of the car.

photo comparison of Renault Logan and Renault Sandero

It is curious that the converted ones received a plastic cap on the tow hook, while the Sandero has a towing loop protruding from the rear bumper. But the new disadvantage that Logan has is that it has lost the slightest external handle for opening the luggage compartment, whereas before there was at least a small plastic “tongue”.

Otherwise, the differences between the sedan and the hatchback lie solely in the body kit, optics and details of the appearance of the cars. And, here, their equipment is similar. It’s worth getting better, however, since the automatic transmission comes only with a 16-valve 1.6-liter power unit with a capacity of 102 horsepower. The most affordable Logan with such an engine costs at least 435,000 rubles.

After purchasing a car, you will have a question and this article will help you change the filter yourself.

The Renault Logan Expression features black door handles, unpainted mirrors and 14″ stamped wheels with hubcaps, while the Renault Sandero Prestige has 15″ alloy wheels. Ugly? Maybe. But much more practical. The door handles on the Sander are similar to those installed on the Renault Symbol sedan. In addition to the fact that they are quite large, they are made of cheap and unpleasant to the touch plastic. Such handles are even somewhat reminiscent of the “soap dish” covers that were once popular among VAZ 2109 owners.

The equipment is practically no different. You will have to pay extra in exactly the same way for the ABS system with two front airbags - 19,800 rubles, and for the air conditioning system - 22,000, and even for fog lights - 4,300 rubles. Moreover, such additional features as heated seats, heating and electric mirrors are not available in the Expression package. If you don’t want to deny yourself the “winter package,” then you’ll have to purchase a “Sandero” or “Logan” in the “Prestige” configuration, which will cost from 496,300 rubles.

Differences between Logan and Sandero interiors

In all versions of Sandero and Logan, the front seats are identical. Unfortunately, they are all inconvenient for most car enthusiasts. I'm not happy with either the lateral support or the profile. The heating button is located in the blind area. But the rear is so spacious that three adults of average build can comfortably sit. However, the Renault Logan has slightly more legroom; for comparison, the Renault Sandero has a wheelbase of 42 millimeters less. Another small feature is the fabric covering of the door panels in the Sandero Prestige.

Surely, it was precisely this situation with the trim levels (either Expression without all the desired bells and whistles, or the expensive Prestige) that was the reason for completely unoriginal heated mirrors and all kinds of “heating capes” for the seats. Of course, you can live without all these bells and whistles, but the modern automobile industry has already been able to spoil the car enthusiast with such simple equipment.

The absolute downside of the Prestige is the instrument panel. On the one hand, the white color of the scale enlivens the interior. However, this is good during the day, but as soon as you enter a tunnel or get behind the wheel in the evening or at night, difficulties immediately arise in obtaining data on engine speed and speed - the amber backlight on a white background makes the dashboard completely “blind”. The standard Expression panel is much more informative. And the digitization was done in the usual “20-40-60” format, and not “30-50-70”, like most “French” ones.

The gearshift levers of both cars are quite simple, but nevertheless very convenient. And on long trips, an unexpected advantage of the high automatic transmission handle appeared - in position “D” it can be used as ... an armrest.

There is absolutely no reason to shell out 9,000 for a “factory” optional Blaupunkt radio; for the same money it is better to buy something more decent. Of course, you will also have to spend money on a pair of front speakers (wiring in the door is provided and already installed). There is, however, a special modification of the Renault Sandero Energy, in which the car radio remote control and an AUX connector are located under the steering wheel. Its cost starts from 415,000 for a car with a 1.6-liter 8-valve engine and a manual transmission and from 471,000 for a car with a 16-valve power plant and automatic transmission.

Comparison of standard Renault Sandero and Logan engines, which is better to take?

Also, many are interested in the question of whether the basic “engine” of 75 “horses” is so bad. If you mainly plan to drive in the city and not fully load the car, and it copes with its tasks perfectly. Because the manual transmission not only has a good lever drive, but also optimally selected gear ratios - the Logan 1.4 does not “sag” when moving to the next stage.

All power units installed on Logan and Sandero have long been tested on other Renault models, for this reason “childhood diseases” are no longer common with them. And the base 1.4-liter and 16-valve 1.6-liter “engine” can “eat” 92 gasoline. The neck of the container with washer fluid is located rather inconveniently - near the windshield.

However, as soon as 3-4 people load inside Logan 1.4, it immediately “withers.” What can we say about the fact that on a suburban two-lane highway, overtaking must be planned a kilometer ahead. So those who like to travel in a group should definitely prefer the Logan 1.6, at least with an 8-valve engine and 84 horsepower. Of course, you will have to pay an additional 15,000 rubles, but the car enthusiast not only gets an additional nine horsepower, but it is also more powerful.

On the move, the Sandero with a 16-valve engine does not give any chance to the Renault Logan with a power plant of 75 horsepower, even with automatic transmission.

Video test drive of two cars from Za Rulem: Logan and Sandero

But the 16-valve modification for the Renault Logan seems unnecessary - of course, it’s coming soon, but is it worth paying another 21,000 for it? In addition, two “little” horsepower transfers the car to a different transport tax rate and compulsory motor liability insurance policy. Also, the Sandero with a 16V engine turned out to be stiffer on the move than the Logan 1.4, although the excellent energy intensity of the suspension remained the same. The noise insulation of the Prestige package is no better - it’s noisy inside as before.

Renault Logan is 230 millimeters longer than Sandero. Almost the entire increase is due to the rear overhang.

So what should you prefer? If an automatic transmission is so important, then in this case, without question, you should choose only with a 16-valve 1.6-liter engine and only in the Prestige package. But choosing “Logan” or “Sandero” is a matter of personal taste and the need for frequent transformation of the rear sofa. By the way, next year the Avtoframos plant is scheduled to produce 160,000 cars, but according to preliminary information, Sandero will account for only 20% instead of the 50% that goes to Renault Logan. This means that much fewer hatchbacks will be produced than this year, and the freed-up production capacity will be transferred to the Renault Duster crossover. Still want to buy Sandero? In this case, you should hurry up.

The debate about which car should be called the “right” one – a hatchback or a sedan – is almost as eternal as the car itself. What if the choice is within the same model?

The new Sandero, following the Logan, received registration in Tolyatti this year. The sedan has been driving around on editorial business since the beginning of summer, but this is the first time the hatchback has been in our hands. A great opportunity to find ten differences - or make sure that there is not much difference (not counting, of course, a different body). The basic Sandero is equipped with the most economical and modern gasoline engine in the line - 1.2 liters, 75 hp, which replaced the 1.4 liter "old man" of similar power. Logan doesn't have that. Great! We take the Sandero with the “junior” engine, and the Logan with the most powerful, 102-horsepower, 1.6-liter engine.

Since the first Logan appeared, the popularity of the popular Renault has been growing like mushrooms after rain. So we will test our debaters on mushrooms: which one is more convenient, which one is more spacious, and which one is more economical and cheaper? Who will we call fly agaric and who will we call boletus?

But before we rush into the forest, let’s take a look at the Dmitrovsky automobile testing ground and examine the “mushroom pickers” from head to toe.

The choice of body is a matter of taste and preferences. All other things being equal, the hatchback is more practical, the sedan is more comfortable. Engine 1.2... Not a fly agaric, of course, but the savings are unjustified.

WHITES AND TOADSBELLS

Will we get to the edge? The ground clearance measurements were surprising: for both cars it is 160 mm - 6 mm more than stated by the manufacturer. This fact aroused legitimate respect, because these are not just millimeters, but synonymous with freedom of movement on Russian dirt roads. At the same time, we note the strong metal engine protection, plastic pipeline protectors on the left side of the bottom and the absence of protruding elements.

Where will we put the loot? According to our measurements, the hatchback is inferior to the sedan in trunk volume by as much as 190 liters (according to the manufacturer - only 96 liters). But the Sandero gives a head start to the Logan in terms of ease of loading luggage and placing long items. The trunk opening of the hatchback is noticeably larger, and there is space behind the folding backrests of the rear seats; “Logan” is content with a narrow window.

A common remark for the two models: it would be more expedient to swap the reclining backrests - the larger one should be placed not behind the driver's seat, but behind the passenger's seat. This would make it possible to transport larger loads by placing the front passenger behind the driver and moving his seat as far forward as possible.

At first we liked the fit of the parts and the neat assembly of both cars. But you can’t fool the keen eye of a mushroom picker, and therefore we found some toadstools: we found “extra” screws and caps under the feet of the passenger of the Logan and in the trunk of the Sandero. Are they really redundant? Or simply not put in place? The only drawback under the bottom is the hanging wiring of the exhaust gas toxicity sensor on the Sandero. Logan had no sagging. Check it on your car and, if necessary, secure it: the hour is uneven, the wire will get caught on the tubercle...

Well, it's time to start the engines. Drawing parallels between technology and the animal world, I would like to note: the smaller and weaker one is for some reason always louder and louder. Considering the identity of the transmissions (the five-speed gearboxes are the same, except that in fifth gear the less powerful Sandero has a slightly higher gear ratio), we are inclined to look for reasons in the body features, as well as in the difference in tire tread patterns. The Sandero, as measurements showed, turned out to be significantly noisier at a speed of 120 km/h, when the tires sing the main parts in the automobile orchestra.

The lack of power of the 1.2‑liter engine was especially evident when measuring elasticity. In fourth gear in the range of 60–100 km/h the lag is not so noticeable. But when driving in fifth in the range of 80–120 km/h, it seems that the hatchback is not accelerating at all! And then, trying on the buyer’s galoshes, you begin to regret that you preferred the 1.2-liter engine. By adding 5,000 rubles, I would take a car with a 1.6-liter engine with 82 hp, and if I throw in another 20 thousand, then a 102-horsepower one. But he didn’t pay extra. The sedan is almost out of sight, and you keep stomping on the gas pedal in the vain hope of not falling behind...

The Sandero, equipped with a 1.2-liter engine, accelerated on the horizontal road of the test site from 80 to 120 km/h in more than half a minute! For Logan with a 102-horsepower engine, it took 19 seconds.

IN THE DARK FOREST

On the highway, when driving evenly in top gear, the 75-horsepower Sandero is practically not inferior to the 102-horsepower Logan. Well, if you tuck in the fourth on a slight rise, that’s business. Of course, on mountain serpentines the picture would be completely different, but with a quiet ride in the conditions of central Russia, the loss in dynamics should be compensated by the moderate appetite of the new engine. (By the way, he is not ready to use 92-grade gasoline and requires only 95-grade gasoline.)

What's the reality? We filled the cars to capacity and reset the odometers. After 455 km, Logan had already started burning the remaining half of the 50-liter tank, and Sandero had only just reached the middle. The natural gain in efficiency is approximately 10%.

The asphalt was replaced by a dirt road, and soon we were rolling along the edge of an overgrown field to a secret mushroom place. This path brought several discoveries at once. First: dosing the thrust of a smaller engine is noticeably more difficult. We noted this in the city, too, when we accidentally turned off the Sandero at traffic lights. And when driving “in a whisper” over forest hummocks, you constantly stall. Loganovsky 1.6 with a significant advantage in traction (+ 38 Nm) and a more distinct clutch drive is beyond competition.

The second discovery concerns the operation of the suspension. Where the Logan sways moderately and gently absorbs bumps, the Sandero strives to straighten the shock absorbers during the rebound stroke and at the same time returns bumps into the cabin with sharp peaks of vertical acceleration.

The difference in chassis settings and the larger wheelbase also explain the early suspension of the Logan's rear wheel - discovery number three.

And the fourth “eureka” sounded in a favorite clearing, where “Sandero” turned in one go, and “Logan” mastered the maneuver in only two steps. No wonder: the hatchback's wheelbase is 45 mm shorter, and the overall length of the car is 266 mm shorter. But for some reason, according to the manufacturer, they have the same turning radius...

MECHANICS COUNT IN AUTUMN

So, it's time to forget about emotions and dig into the price lists. A very exciting process!

For example, there are almost exact coincidences. The base price of our Sandero with a 75-horsepower 1.2-liter engine is 429 thousand rubles. And Logan for 428 thousand has a 102-horsepower 1.6. Jump two steps up - at the same prices! What do we get by giving an extra thousand rubles and not at all an extra 27 “horses”?

Both cars will be in the “Confort” configuration, but the Sandero already has foglights (the Logan buyer will have to pay an additional 5,000 rubles for them), cruise control (the opponent clenches his fists helplessly), a folding rear seat back and a second pillow safety (the Logan buyer nervously lights a cigarette and prepares to pay 9,000 rubles for a safety package with the same rear backrest and normal headrests). For each car you can buy a winter package (11 thousand and 14 thousand rubles, respectively) - this includes heated seats and mirrors, and for Logan also a heated windshield.

The rest of the joys of life like air conditioning (25 thousand), metallic (8 thousand) and other amenities are equally available to both.

So, at the same price as the Logan, the 1.2-liter Sandero will be quite “European” - with a more complete set of safety and comfort devices. But - with an engine two steps lower...

Let's check this conclusion with another example. Again, almost the same prices: 454 thousand costs “Sandero” with a maximum 1.6 engine (102 hp) and 456 thousand are asked for “Logan” with an average engine of the same volume (1.6 liters, 82 hp) . The hatchback will be in the already familiar “Confort” configuration, and the sedan will step up to the next level - “Privilege”: on-board computer, air conditioning, rear electric windows, navigation for a ridiculous 10 thousand rubles, fog lights... In general, minus the engine, plus comfort.

Well, for dessert, let's take cars with equal 1.6 liter engines. The difference between the Sandero and Logan (we take trim levels with the same names and minor differences in the equipment lists) will be approximately 30 thousand rubles - in favor of the sedan. Total: minus 30 thousand, plus the practicality of the hatchback. As before, two steps, only on different stairs.

Production of Logan at the Renault Russia plant started at the end of 2005. Car enthusiasts immediately appreciated the reliable omnivorous suspension, impressive ground clearance for a passenger car and a spacious trunk. Sandero entered our market in 2010. How reliable are used Sandero and Logan?

Corrosion of body parts is not a problem for them; the bodies of both cars are galvanized. Even the most problematic places where chips are inevitable, the hood and rear wing arches, do not rust for a long time. However, used Logans manufactured in 2005-2006 may have rust spots on the roof near the windshield and under the trunk lid.

The presence of rust on body panels most likely indicates poor-quality body repairs. That is, the car is most likely damaged. It is better to refuse to buy such a car. Taking into account the large number of offers of these cars on the secondary market, it is better to find a car without such defects.

Salon

The interior of the cars in question is made of inexpensive, harsh plastic. But, despite the cheap materials, it does not annoy the owner with extraneous squeaks. Troubles can be caused by seats, which even after a relatively short mileage of about 90 thousand km. they begin to sway and a slight backlash appears.

The seat upholstery material is quite wear-resistant and should retain a decent appearance over such a mileage. In addition, you may have to replace burnt-out dome light bulbs and dashboard bulbs. They are not expensive, and neither is the labor to replace them.

Electrics

The electrical system of Renault Logan and Sandero is quite simple, and there should not be any serious problems with it. Possible malfunctions of the steering column switches. If the horn does not work, most likely the contact in the left switch has come loose.

You can fix this yourself by soldering the damaged contact, or replace the assembled part. The issue price is about 2 thousand rubles. The story is similar with the right switch; its imminent breakdown can be signaled by incorrect operation of the windshield wipers.

Air conditioner

Be sure to check the serviceability of the air conditioner, if you have one. Its radiator is installed in front of the main engine radiator and is therefore subject to increased wear. The original radiator is quite expensive - 14 thousand rubles, a non-original analogue can be found much cheaper.

Engine

The Renault models in question were produced in our market. The main one is K7J with a volume of 1.4 liters and a power of 75 horsepower. This is the weakest of the three engines. When overtaking on the highway or driving with a full load, it is clearly not enough.

The next engine in the lineup is the K7M, which produces 84 horsepower plus a significant increase in torque.

The most powerful engine installed in Renault Logan and Sandero is the 16 valve K4M engine, 103 hp. With. Cars with such an engine are endowed with better dynamics; they are noticeably faster than their eight-valve counterparts.

The first two engines are already quite outdated, but quite reliable. You can often find cars with numbers of 2.5 - 3 hundred thousand kilometers on the odometer.

Once the mileage reaches ~100 thousand kilometers it may fail. crankshaft position sensor. In this case, the car will begin to stall at idle speed when the engine is warm. The cost of the sensor is not high, and you can replace it yourself.
