In some cases, car owners cannot be personally present when they are released from impound lots, but, thanks to amended Federal laws, they can entrust this process to trusted persons.

In what cases is it possible

A vehicle can end up in a parking lot for various reasons:

  • incorrect parking;
  • the driver does not have documents allowing him to drive the vehicle;
  • participation in a traffic accident;
  • driving a vehicle while intoxicated;
  • the presence of technical malfunctions due to which it is not possible to transport the car to a permanent parking place, etc.

The federal law, adopted by the State Duma back in 2020, allows vehicle owners to grant broad powers to their proxies.

By issuing a notarized power of attorney for the representative, they thus instruct to perform a number of legal actions that allow the owner to return the car located in the impound lot.

Every car owner can try to avoid unnecessary problems if he follows the following rules:

  1. You need to park your car only in designated areas.
  2. Before each trip, you need to check that you have all the documents that allow you to drive the car.
  3. If the driver had (or is about to) drink alcohol, then he should not drive, but should first park the car in a guarded parking lot, lock it and use a taxi.

Required package of documents

In order for the representative of the owner of the vehicle to be able to pick it up from the impound lot, he must provide the traffic police officers with a complete package of documents, which should include:

  • passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation;
  • permission from the traffic police that you can pick up the car;
  • documents for car ownership;
  • MTPL insurance policy (if the representative of the car owner is included in this policy, then he does not need to present a power of attorney);
  • vehicle keys;
  • a copy of the protocol (this document describes the technical condition of the car, thanks to which the owner will be able to claim financial compensation in the event of careless transportation or careless storage of the car);
  • driver's license of a suitable category;

If the vehicle was placed in the impound lot due to a traffic violation, then the representative of the owner of the car will have to sign a protocol on the administrative violation committed.

Thus, the trustee will be forced to admit the guilt of the owner of the vehicle.

In the case when the documents for the car are in its interior, then in order to remove them from there, traffic police officers will have to print the doors and draw up a corresponding report.

Upon receipt of the car, the authorized person will have to sign the Delivery Certificate.

  • loss of personal belongings of the owner;
  • lack of spare parts, components and assemblies;
  • loss or damage to decorative elements;
  • the presence of various damages that appeared while the car was in the impound lot.

Procedure for receiving a car

In 2020, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law, which is still in force, regarding the procedure for obtaining cars from impound lots.

Thanks to this legal act, not only the legal owner, but also his authorized representative can pick up the car.

To pick up a car from the impound lot, you must act in a certain sequence (the procedure can be carried out by both the owner and his representative, acting on the basis of a notarized power of attorney):

  1. Find out which impound lot the car was transported to by means of a tow truck. In small towns this cannot be done very quickly. In large cities, car owners can spend a lot of time and effort finding out the necessary information. Lawyers recommend calling either the unified evacuation service or number 02. Law enforcement agencies receive information about the forced evacuation of vehicles approximately 2 hours after this procedure.
  2. Contact your local traffic police department. At this government agency, the owner of a vehicle must receive a certificate confirming the absence of debts on previously accrued fines.
  3. If at the time of application the owner of the car has outstanding fines, then they must be paid, and the receipts must be provided to the traffic police officers involved in the paperwork. Payment can be made both at branches of banking institutions and through electronic payment systems (in particular via the Internet).
  4. Obtain a document allowing you to pick up your vehicle from the impound lot.
  5. Apply the necessary seals and stamps on the documents.
  6. Collect a complete package of documentation, issue and notarize a power of attorney to the representative.
  7. Go to the impound lot and hand over all documents to its employees.
  8. Sign the transfer deed (after carefully checking the appearance and technical equipment of the car, as well as the presence of all the owner’s valuables) and pick up the car.

Some car owners ask the question: what to do if the impound lot has a legal day off? In most cases, on such days, neither the owners nor their official representatives will be able to resolve the issue of receiving the cars.

Lawyers recommend that motorists try to resolve such issues on an individual basis. To do this, you will need to find out the personal phone number of the manager of a particular impound lot and try to explain to him the urgency of the situation over the phone.

If the boss does not make concessions, then the owner or his authorized representative will have to wait until the working day and pick up the vehicle in the prescribed manner.

If the owner of a vehicle comes to the attention of the traffic police or the police, he needs to try to make every effort to ensure that the car is not transported to the impound lot.

If nothing could be done, then the owner must demand a receipt confirming the fact of payment of the fine (on the spot) for the offense committed on the road.

If you do not receive this document, then neither the owner nor his representative will be able to pick up the car from the impound lot.

How to pick up a car from an impound lot without paying a fine

Today, vehicle owners have the opportunity to pick them up from the impound lot without having to pay for the services of a tow truck. This right was given to them by the Federal Law adopted by the State Duma on June 7, 2020.

It is worth noting that legislators included in this legal act a provision regarding the abolition of payment for both tow truck services and storage of cars in impound lots.

This Federal Law came into force on September 1, 2016. Until this moment, vehicle owners did not have the right to pick up their cars unless they paid for the full range of services provided.

Starting from September this year, representatives of owners of cars located in impound lots can pick them up if they have a package of documents that does not include payment receipts.

The law now allows 60 days from the date of accrual of penalties to pay for car storage and towing services.

What to do if the owner dies

If a vehicle is in an impound lot and its owner suddenly dies, then only the official heir can pick it up from there.

In this situation, you need to act in the following order:

  • the legal successor of the deceased must enter into the inheritance;
  • the inheritance registration procedure is carried out;
  • on the basis of an appropriate document confirming the transfer of ownership from the deceased to the legal successor, the vehicle can be taken from the impound lot.

The heir has the legal right to authorize his representative to pick up the car from the impound lot.

Surely, in the life of every car enthusiast, a situation arose when, for one reason or another, a car was lost. In the event that the owner did not become a victim of thieves, then most often this happened due to a violation of parking rules. Then, most likely, you need to look for the missing car at the impound lot. But not everyone has an exact idea of how to pick up a car from an impound lot, so many problems have to be solved.

We will try to cover this problem in more detail and give useful recommendations on how to behave as a motorist in such a situation.

In what cases does a tow truck take a car to the impound lot?

The basis for towing a vehicle may be any of the violations that reflected in Article 27.13 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

  • Wrong parking location;
  • Failure to present documents confirming the right to drive a vehicle at the time of the inspector’s call;
  • Inoperative condition of the steering or brake system;
  • Transportation of dangerous goods in the absence of special signs and necessary permits;
  • Other violations provided for by the Administrative Code.

Possible actions when evacuating a car to an impound lot

Having realized that your car has been towed, you need to know what to do and who to contact. In order not to panic ahead of time, we suggest read the following recommendations, which will help you take action immediately.

How to find out where the car is?

Returning from the supermarket with your purchases, you discover that there is nothing where you left your car. What actions should you take if you realize that your car has been sent to the impound lot?

Check if you have all the documents for the car with you. If everything is in order with this, then immediately go to the traffic police department, where, in your opinion, they issued a report for the violation.

You will have to pay a fine, after which you will receive from the traffic police inspector certificate-notification, through which you can pick up your car from the impound lot. Having the permit and a copy of the protocol in hand, you can go to the impound lot to pick up your car.

But it is advisable to first contact the impound lot by phone and find out about the rules for returning the car. Who should I call if my car is taken by a tow truck? You can find out the number of the impound lot in any local directory.

What documents are needed to pick up your car?

Even before you go to the impound lot, you should prepare all necessary documents, and therefore you should check them again. You should have the following:

  • Certificate of permission from the traffic police to return your car;
  • A set of title documents for the car;
  • OSAGO auto insurance policy;
  • A power of attorney signed by a notary, according to which you can legally pick up your car if you are not the owner.

What should be included in the offense report?

The vehicle is towed based on the violation protocol. However, traffic police inspectors do not always fill it out in accordance with the established form.

Therefore, you, as the owner, should ask what reason is given in the protocol, which allowed the inspector to decide to evacuate your car to the impound lot.

Pay special attention to ensure that it reflects all transport technical parameters your car, including visual ones. This is very important because in the future it will help you determine the damage that was caused to the vehicle during the evacuation.

In addition, make sure that the vehicle that was involved in the towing of your car is described in as much detail as possible.

Keep in mind that not every tow truck can be used to transport a car with a transmission and low clearance.

If you discover violations in the protocol and are faced with the inspector’s reluctance to correct it, you should not treat this paper as an official document, since it has no legal force.

And without a protocol, there is no violation, so you not only do not have to pay a fine for a violation, but also reimburse maintenance costs your car in the impound lot. And this is very important, because in every city the prices for maintaining a car in an impound lot are quite high.

How much does a parking lot cost?

To better imagine what expenses you will have to incur as a result of towing your car to an impound lot, let’s give the cost of an impound lot using the example of the city of Moscow:

  • Category A, B – 3 thousand rubles
  • Category B – 5 thousand rubles
  • Category B – 7 thousand rubles
  • Category D – 27,000 rubles

Keep in mind that if you come to pick up your car on the second day or later, you must pay the impound fee first. The cost of maintaining a machine can be from 500 to 3,000 rub. per day of downtime.

The car was towed along with the documents for the car.

Many car owners have to find themselves in a similar situation, and it brings little joy, since it is not only troublesome, but also costly. If this is exactly what happened to you, then instead of the traffic police department you need to immediately go to the impound lot.

In your presence, the parking attendant will draw up a protocol for opening your car and removing the documents you need from it. Next, the protocol is recorded and certified by signatures, after which your car must be sealed and remain in this state until your return. Now you need to take the documents and go to the traffic police department, and from there you will have to return to the parking lot to pick up your car.

In most large cities, these two objects are located at a considerable distance from each other, sometimes at different ends of the city. Therefore, be patient in advance, as this process will require a lot of time and money.

If you arrive at the parking lot and do not find your car, then most likely it is in the impound lot. You can confirm your suspicions by calling 02.

If you found your car at the time of drawing up the protocol with the act of transferring the car, then you It is possible to pick up the car directly on the spot without incurring additional costs.

Please note that evacuation of a vehicle is unacceptable if there are people in it. You don't have to leave the car, then it won't be touched. But keep in mind that you may be prosecuted for refusing to comply with the police request.

If it so happens that the car has already been taken to the impound lot, and there were important documents in it, then you will have to spend a lot of time getting to your car and picking up the documents. First, you need to go to the impound lot, fill out a car autopsy report, get the necessary documents, and then the car will be stamped in front of you. Next, you need to go to the traffic police department with the documents, and from there return to the impound lot to pick up your car.

Conclusion

Receiving fines is unpleasant, but it is even more disappointing when an offense was recorded in your absence and on top of that, the car was towed away. In such a situation, the driver has no choice but to go through the procedure of returning the car. Please note that you will not be able to return the car without documents. Therefore, if you have them with you, then immediately go to the traffic police department, otherwise, if they are left in the car, then you must first go to the impound lot and, in the presence of an employee, pick up the necessary documents.

Already with them, you should go to the traffic police department, and, having filled out the necessary papers, you should return to the impound lot to pick up your car, having first paid for its maintenance.

Usually, every motorist who parks his car outside the designated place is familiar with the phenomenon of temporary detention of a car and placing it in a paid impound lot.

Dear readers! The article talks about typical ways to resolve legal issues, but each case is individual. If you want to know how solve exactly your problem- contact a consultant:

However, this is not the only reason why a tow truck may be called to place the car in a special parking lot.

Every driver and car owner should be aware of the reasons for the delay of the car, not just from friends or the media, but also based on laws.

What it is

A vehicle impound lot is a specialized area guarded by a service associated with the State Traffic Inspectorate, where detainees detained by law enforcement, inspection bodies of the State Traffic Inspectorate, State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, Department of Internal Affairs or the Ministry of Internal Affairs, arrested for any vehicle violations, are brought with the help of tow trucks.

This situation is very unpleasant for any car owner whose car was taken away for certain violations.

However, a lesson can also be learned from this situation so as not to violate the laws of parking, driving on the roads, etc. in the future. The presence of a detained car at such a site is a paid service and a daily storage fee is charged.

The first day is not paid, and the countdown begins from the second day your car is in the parking lot.

Reason for sending a car to the impound lot

Every driver and vehicle owner needs to know what the reasons are and in what cases the car is taken to the impound lot in 2020.

This is especially true for those motorists who do not care where they park - on the sidewalk, playground, lawn, roadway or in other prohibited places.

However, illegal parking or parking is not the only reason for your car to be “drifted” on a tow truck to a specialized paid parking lot.

Among these reasons, the most common are the following situations, which are noted at the legislative level:

  1. Wrong parking, parking. Most often, these are the following places where the requirements of legal provisions on parking and parking are most often violated:
    • at a pedestrian crossing or with access to it, which prevents pedestrians from passing through their territory;
    • in through tunnels where traffic flows;
    • on or across tram tracks;
    • at stops or close to the entrance pocket of passenger stops of citywide importance;
    • very close to a railway crossing (less than 10 m from the barrier);
    • in places of public leisure for citizens there are playgrounds, in courtyards very close to the front porch;
    • parking in a specialized drive-in pocket designed for legal temporary parking of cars, but with entry onto the roadway (placing the car at an angle, or in another way, when part of the car is on the road).
  2. The driver does not have the documents with him that give him the legal right to drive the car. These may be the following papers, in the absence of which the car may end up on special. parking as punishment for its owner:
    • when the driver’s license of the person driving when driving or parking the car is missing;
    • an expired insurance policy, or its absence, which confirms compulsory motor third party liability insurance;
    • there is no technical passport or diagnostic card that could confirm the timely completion of technical inspection of the machine and permission to use it in view of the satisfactory technical condition of its key units;
    • registration certificate, PTS or any other papers indicating ownership or the right to drive and dispose of the car under a power of attorney issued by its owner to the driver;
    • specialized documents for heavy vehicles - waybills, license cards, relevant documentation for the cargo itself located in the back of the car, etc.
  3. Detection by a traffic policeman of the driver's state of intoxication. Especially in cases of obvious risk to other road traffic participants.
  4. Significant damage to the car. For example:
    • the braking system does not work well;
    • the steering mechanism is faulty;
    • the clutch is acting up;
    • broken lighting fixtures;
    • mirrors are bent in such a way that this can only be corrected in a repair shop and other key breakdowns.
  5. Violation of the Road Traffic Rules for various reasons, including violation of road markings or prohibition signs.
  6. The driver’s refusal to undergo a medical examination to determine the presence (or absence) of alcohol or drug intoxication.
  7. Detection of illegally used or prohibited installations in vehicle structures:
    • unregistered gas equipment;
    • illegal presence of gas equipment in the cabin;
    • applying logos and other signs to the car body that relate to operational government services;
    • illegal installation of flashing lights with alarms on cars;
    • illegal installation of radio equipment, etc.
  8. Transportation of dangerous goods in clear violation of special rules.

To transport dangerous goods, the driver must have all the necessary papers that are usually used. And this is in addition to the primary documents - driver’s license, compulsory motor liability insurance policy, .

There must also be a permit to drive vehicles when transporting dangerous goods - ADR. The driver must not have an expired certificate of completion of the medical examination, which is usually passed in such cases more often than other motorists.

In addition, each container, packaging, and container must be properly marked so that signs are placed warning of the danger and briefly informing about the first actions in an emergency situation.

It is necessary to note one important detail - according to the law, a delay of a vehicle for one reason or another can be carried out only when the cause of the violation cannot be eliminated within half an hour, forty minutes, or simultaneously.

In general, in practice, the period of time during which it is permissible to remove an obstacle or correct a violation is determined by a traffic police officer.

In a word, if you can really return home in a short time to get forgotten documents, or you can remove your illegally parked car, etc., then it is likely that you will not be fined and the car will not be taken to the impound lot.

Then in such cases there is a chance to simply get off with a regular reprimand and warning.

What services do

First of all, order on the roads and adjacent territories is, of course, monitored by traffic police from the MREO department, the traffic police or the State Traffic Inspectorate.

The procedure may also include the services of expert emergency commissioners or damage assessors if the case is being considered after an accident.

Almost always, traffic police officers cooperate with car evacuation services, which have specialized equipment for this purpose that can remove any vehicle from the roadway (or other areas of automobile infrastructure) and deliver it to a impound lot located on the territory owned by the MREO or the traffic police.

They do not have the right to take your car to the impound lot if a protocol has not been drawn up before calling the tow truck.

This document must reflect not only the violation itself or other related facts, but also a list of all things located in the trunk and interior of the car, minibus or truck.

An inventory of the property must be compiled without fail, and all doors and other opening mechanisms must be carefully sealed and secured so that they do not accidentally open during transportation on a tow truck.

Until the owner of the car has received such a protocol, read its contents and signed for it, according to the law, the road patrol cannot evacuate the car to an impound lot.

Without your presence, the car can be towed to a specialized site only when you do not appear at your car for a long time as its owner or authorized representative.

Also in cases where a car is abandoned near the roadway or right in the middle of it, it interferes with the passage of other cars, and the driver is either in the hospital after an accident or somewhere else.

In these situations, the law defines a different procedure for evacuating a car to an impound lot. Witnesses are involved, citizens who are ready to testify to the legality and correctness of the registration of towing of the car.

Witnesses familiarize themselves with the protocol, which contains their personal and contact information, and put their signatures on it.

In any case, when you approach the place where your car is parked and you don’t find it there, you can immediately call the emergency response service at 02 or 112.

Having explained the whole situation and indicated by phone the number of your car, your last name and first name, and other data, you will receive information about the location of the impound lot where your car was taken.

After your car ends up in the impound lot, according to the rules, information about this case is reported to the nearest territorial department of the Department of Internal Affairs, its duty station.

The police officer is obliged to inform the owner of the car that it is in a specialized parking lot. But in practice, it happens that owners find their car on their own.

The first day for storing a car on such a site should not be paid for by law, and then a fee will be charged. Approximately in the central regions of Russia today it is from 2500 to 3000 rubles per day of car storage.

Typically, this cost includes the departure of a tow truck, a fine for the violation, and the transport of your car on a tow truck to the impound area.

In order to pick up your movable property from the impound lot, you must obtain permission from the traffic police in writing and adjust to the parking lot's operating schedule.

Such permission is obtained by having with you all the papers for the car, ownership and your documents as a driver.

First, they pay for storage during all the days the car is in the impound lot, present the permit to the security service, and then receive their car back.

What the law says

Any removal of a car or truck to a specialized site for arrest must be carried out strictly in accordance with all the rules and regulations of the law.

And even if you don’t know in what cases a car is taken to the impound lot during an accident or at any other time, the traffic police or evacuation service officers themselves must still act within the law.

Let us note all the key points regarding the transport of vehicles to the impound lot, and when exactly they can take your vehicle to the impound lot:

  1. All Rules under which a car is delayed in this way are noted in the (Administrative and Legal Code of the Russian Federation).
  2. The rules for crossing marking strips on the roadway, as well as transporting special cargo, passengers or driving a car without state registration plates are contained in the articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Code) -, and, relating to Chapter 11 of the Code.
  3. The whole thing contains moments when a car is taken to the impound lot for offenses.
  4. Local legislative acts at the federal level may also regulate the procedure and cases in which a car with a special registration is confiscated. parking lot as seized movable property. For example, the following laws apply in Moscow and the region:
    • order from the Department of Economics. The Moscow city policy shows the procedure for detaining a car and the cost of moving it and storing it in an impound lot;
    • states the details of the procedure and rules for placing a car in the impound lot;
    • coordinates the procedure for moving the car and placing it in the impound lot.
  5. , revised on December 22, 2014, reflects all the rules that must ensure the safe and free movement of all vehicles on the roads.
  6. The rules for evacuation of a car are contained in a legislative act

To make it easier to imagine how practically such laws relate to real cases, let’s consider a table that reflects the case of evacuation of a car for one reason or another and the legal basis for such actions by official services.

Cases of evacuation of a car to an impound lot with grounds found in the legislative provisions of the Russian Federation:

Description of the reason for towing the car to the impound lot Legislative
basis from the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation
Lack of documents: - driver's license;
— permitting papers for cargo (waybills, TTN, other waybills);
— ADR certificates when transporting dangerous goods.
Elements of the brake system are faulty.
The car illegally occupied a parking space for the disabled. The fine here is 5,000 thousand rubles.
Detection of a minor or another citizen (citizen) driving a car who is not allowed to drive a car. ,
Drunk driver behind the wheel. ,
Parking, stopping under prohibitory signs, or in the wrong place. A violation such as parking in the second row is also considered, for which a fine of 2,000 thousand rubles is levied on the owner.
Parking, parking in places where there is a removable “Tow Truck Operation” sign, or some other sign that prohibits stopping.
The presence of alcohol or a narcotic substance in the driver’s body was detected.
Finding a car on a bike path.

Parking a car in the yard in places not equipped for this is fined and punishable by the removal of the car to a special area on the grounds. In these cases, you will have to deal not only with the traffic police officer, but also with the residents of the house.

All parties, both drivers and government, executive and operational services, are subject to these and other legislative decisions of the country, federal district or other subject of the Russian Federation.

In addition to the responsibility of road users and parking participants themselves, police officers and tow truck operators must also obey their own laws.

Many car owners, who are faced with the evacuation of their car to a special parking lot for the first time, simply do not know what to do in this situation. Where to look for a car, how to avoid transportation, and are the actions of the traffic police always legal? So, the car is in the impound lot, what should you do? First of all, there is no need to panic, you can pick up your iron horse at any time, but before that you still need to find out where your car is.

The Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation gives a clear answer to the question of why a car can be towed to a specialized parking lot.

The most common reasons for evacuation are:

  • The driver did not have any documents. This applies not only to the driver's license, but also to the certificate of ownership, insurance policy, registration certificate, etc.
  • The vehicle shows obvious damage to the brakes, clutch or steering wheel, which is incompatible with safe movement.
  • The driver does not have a driver's license and has never received one.
  • The car is on the wanted list due to theft, crime, etc.
  • The driver’s behavior is inappropriate due to alcohol or drug intoxication.
  • The car owner does not agree to undergo a medical examination.
  • The vehicle was involved in the transportation of large cargo with safety violations.
  • The car is parked in the wrong place.

In all these cases, it is possible to evacuate the car to an impound lot.

At the same time, the evacuation process is also clearly regulated. All access points to the car are sealed with special seals, and a protocol is drawn up. These actions must be carried out in the presence of the owner of the car or two witnesses.

Important! The iron horse can be towed only if the violation cannot be corrected on the spot or the owner of the car is not present.

What to do if your car is towed?

If it happened that one day you left the office and did not find your car where you left it, most likely it was transported to a special parking lot. In this case, you need to know the algorithm of actions on how to find and pick up your car.

Attention! Towing a car to a parking lot for illegal parking or another offense is impossible if there are passengers in the cabin.

Therefore, if you stop for a while in the wrong place, leave a person in the car, this will guarantee that the car will not disappear without you.

How to find out where the car is - where to call and what to do?

First of all, you need to find out where your car was towed to in Moscow, call the impound lot and find out if your vehicle is there.

Of course, few people carry contact details of a specialized parking lot with them, and therefore the easiest way is to dial the police number 02 or 112.

The operator must give the address and telephone number of the parking lot, and also explain your further actions. Don’t forget to find out where the nearest traffic police station is located, because that’s where you should be given a protocol and a receipt to pay the fine.

You can find out where the car was towed in Moscow by calling the help desk numbers or in the single contact center “Moscow Parking”. It’s better to write down the center’s phone number in your mobile phone so that you can call there immediately if necessary.

If you have the documents for the car with you, you can safely go to the traffic police. There you will be notified that you have the right to pick up your car.

You will also receive a copy of the protocol.

Attention! Since September 2016, you can pick up your car without paying a fine.

According to the law, you can pay the penalty within 60 days. If the traffic police demand immediate payment from you, these actions are illegal, which you can safely say.

If the documents for the vehicle were left in the towed car, you will first have to go to a special parking lot. There, after drawing up the protocol, your car will be opened, all the papers will be taken out and it will be sealed again in your presence. Now the algorithm of actions is the same. Go to the traffic police, get a notice, and pick up the car.

After the car has been evacuated, information about this must be transmitted to the district police department.

What documents are needed to pick up the car?

If your car has been towed, you can’t just pick it up from the parking lot. You will need to have the necessary documents with you in order for the car to be returned to you.

Prepare in advance:

  • Notification from the traffic police that you have the right to pick up the car.
  • All title documents for the car.
  • Vehicle registration certificate.
  • Insurance certificate.
  • Passport.
  • Driver's license.
  • Power of attorney from the owner, certified by a notary (if taken by a third party).

It is worth noting that if you are missing at least one document, the car will not be given to you, and you will have to return for the forgotten paper.

Important! Before going to pick up your car, call the special parking lot and check the working hours. In practice, it often turns out that in the evening and at night there is no one there except the watchman.

How much will it cost to return a car from the impound lot?

Prices for special parking may vary depending on the region, category and capacity of the car.

So, in Moscow for the current year the prices are as follows:

  • Power up to 80 hp A, B – 3000
  • Power up to 250 hp B – 5000
  • Power over 250 hp B – 7000
  • Freight vehicles D – 27,000

If you did not manage to pick up your car within 24 hours from the moment of evacuation, you will have to pay up to 2,000 for each day of storage.

Important! Like a fine, special parking services can be paid after you have picked up the car. The law gives you 60 days to do this. However, if you pay for special parking before you pick up the vehicle, you will receive a 25% discount on the total cost of parking services.

Remember that you have the right to call the police if your vehicle is damaged during transportation. In this case, do not sign the car acceptance certificate and wait for the police. With a report of damage, you can go to court for damages.
