At the same time, the products of a huge number of brands are on sale, actually belonging to leading manufacturers and acting as their “subsidiaries”. They will be discussed below.
The greatest activity of the largest tire brands in acquiring smaller and more successful manufacturers occurred in the 90s of the 20th century. For the acquired companies, this development of the situation only benefited them. Not only were they able to use financial investments to update production equipment, but they also gained access to advanced research and development conducted by market leaders. At the same time, if necessary, companies at the head office could be assisted by experienced specialists should such a need arise.
It should be noted that in terms of their characteristics, the products of sub-brands have minimal differences from the basic models, but have significantly more affordable prices. Often they are even produced on the same assembly line, and the difference in price becomes the result solely of marketing policy and the need for the buyer to overpay for a well-promoted brand.

Continental
The German concern Continental AG owns a dozen brands that supply the market with a wide range of tires, ranging from motorcycles to special agricultural equipment. Who owns the tire factories?
While the organization of production can still be sorted out, the intricacies of company ownership are much more complex. Mutual acquisition of shares is a common practice.
