Service books from the official manufacturer indicate that it is best to replace spark plugs every 90,000 kilometers with iride spark plugs. In our country, this figure is less - 60,000 km, because the quality of gasoline in most of the region leaves much to be desired. If the spark plugs are ordinary, then it is better every 30,000 kilometers.

What will you need to replace?

16 mm wrench or special spark plug wrench. It will be good if the outer diameter of the hook is not large - then the tool will easily fit into the spark plug wells.
If you have a 1.5 liter engine, then you will also need a TORX E10 socket head, if 1.8 or 2, then just a 10 hex socket.
Set of new candles - 4 pieces.

Procedure:

1. Open the hood and remove the plastic engine cover. There is no need to unscrew anything - just pull the cover up.

2. If the engine is dirty, covered in dust or debris, then it is better to rinse and wipe everything thoroughly. Now you can safely unscrew the bolts that secure the ignition coils. To do this, you just need an E10 socket wrench or a simple 10 socket.

3. Now you will need to disconnect the wire plug from the ignition coil. Removing the coil is simple—pull the top and set it aside so as not to lose it or step on it.

4. Immediately below the coil we see what we are looking for. It is unscrewed with a special spark plug wrench or clamp. When using a simple socket, the spark plug can be removed using a fuel supply hose (as in the photo)

5. Install new spark plugs. It is better to first twist it by hand to feel whether the candle has hit the thread or not. If you feel that it is going “tight”, then it is better not to put any effort, but to unscrew it and try again. It's good if you have a special torque wrench: you will need to tighten it to a torque of 25 Nm

6. Reinstall everything in reverse order.

Now, which candles to choose? Different spark plugs are suitable for different power units.
For a 1.5 liter engine it is Mitsubishi MN176628 (original) or Bosch 0 242 235 769.
For 1.8 or 2.0 liter engines - original Mitsubishi MN163236, Mitsubishi MN163807 or NGK FR6EI,
