Nissan Micra description. Nissan Micra K12: photos, description, technical specifications and owner reviews

From year to year, the Nissan Micra 2018-2019 demonstrates a tendency to successfully combine environmental friendliness, fuel efficiency, and attractive appearance. If earlier this neat Japanese belonged to the female audience, then in 2017 a new generation came out, adding more predatory outlines to the design elements in the hope of attracting the attention of male buyers. The car has become more aggressive. Its previous advantages have not only been fully preserved, but even more so: the option component has become wider. The car, which is located in the budget niche, was equipped with the filling from the brothers of the middle segment.

New, it vaguely resembles that cute “pop-eye” who was given a similar nickname because of the roundness of the headlights, bumper, and radiator grille. In general, the Nissan Micra has shed its femininity like a snake's skin, becoming more unisex. Not even that: he changed his gender, becoming a man's car. At least, this is the information marketers and car dealers present.

Design

Compared to last year's model, the changes affected the radiator grille only slightly, making it visually more massive. Now it is located from the hood to the bottom edge of the car. The hood remained the same, only the edges in it changed the contours of the relief towards smoothness. The intertwined black color of the Micra 5, the headlight optics, looking from under the brows, the strongly sloping windshield, the touch of sportiness of the bumper - all this looks at least stylish and attractive.

In profile it is a hatchback with a sloping roof. The wheel design is fundamentally different; the version with 17-inch wheels is especially impressive. The side mirrors have been enlarged and have turn signal repeaters, and the specificity of the rear door with an original handle is a unique highlight. The car also has urban status thanks to its fairly low ground clearance of 145 mm.

From the rear, the 2018-2019 Nissan Micra has a pronounced roof visor that redirects air flow, thereby reducing drag aerodynamics and increasing downforce. Triangles of dimensions emphasize the predatory forms. The central part of the plastic bumper protection is equipped with a brake light. The exhaust pipe is camouflaged until it is almost completely invisible.

The urban small car will be available in 10 color options, among which the most attractive are the energetic orange and pulsating green gloss. Other colors:

  • Enigma Black;
  • Glaze White;
  • Gunmetal Grey;
  • Ivory;
  • Passion Red;
  • Platinum Silver;
  • Power Blue;
  • White.

New sizes:

  • length – 3995 mm;
  • width – 1742 mm;
  • height – 1455 mm;
  • ground clearance - 144 mm;
  • wheelbase – 2525 mm.

Interior

The interior is very similar to the cockpit of a science fiction fighter. Despite the external diminutiveness of the Nissan Micra K14, there is enough space in the cabin. High-quality plastic, which is more typical of more expensive cars, is well combined in colors. Even the most inexpensive package includes a 7-inch touch display, which reduces classic mechanical buttons and controls to a minimum. The cabin is quiet and noise is well shielded when driving at reasonable speeds. The suspension absorbs road unevenness, making the ride comfortable.

The steering wheel is comfortable, not devoid of grace, with electric power steering. Replete with multi-function buttons. The instrument panel is an electronic display whose operation can be customized. This is the first time such an innovation has been implemented in the line.

The layout of the front seats, designed for five passengers, is aimed at convenience. Their fabric upholstery is practical, pleasant to the touch and the color scheme matches the entire interior of the Nissan Micra 2018-2019 as a whole. The rear seats are a bit cramped for three passengers. The trunk has a volume of 300 liters, which is good for a baby.

Specifications

Type Volume Power Torque Overclocking Maximum speed Number of cylinders
Petrol 0.9 l 86 hp 140 H*m 12.1 sec. 175 km/h 3
Petrol 1.0 l 72 hp 95 H*m - - 3

Under the hood, the Japanese has a rather modest filling. List for Russian buyers:

  • Three-cylinder 12-valve 0.9-liter gasoline turbo, producing 86 horses with a torque of 150 H*m;
  • One-liter naturally aspirated engine with 72 horsepower and 95 Nm of torque;
  • One and a half liter diesel engine, 90 hp. and 220 Nm.

The car will have an independent spring suspension at the front, and a semi-independent spring suspension at the rear. The front brakes are disc, the rear are drum.

The fifth Nissan Micra's gearbox is only a 5-speed manual. Even if the hatchback looks like a sports car, in reality it is an economical small car, the advantage of which is the 3.5-liter fuel consumption per hundred kilometers declared by the manufacturers with reasonable driving. Of course, this is its most important advantage.

Price and equipment

The maximum package includes:

  • Air conditioning system;
  • Stability control system;
  • Four airbags;
  • Electrically heated front seats;
  • Front electric windows;
  • Electric power steering;
  • Headlight washer;
  • Rain sensor;
  • Electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats.

The Micra price limit depends on the desire and wallet of the buyer.

At a minimum, there is air conditioning, heated mirrors, heated front seats, the same ABS, parking sensors. And all this for modest 10,200 euros– this is the number where its price begins.

As a result, we can safely say: the new Nissan Micra 2018-2019 is top for your money. Manufacturers' deviations from the traditional appearance at least attracted public attention. A competent approach to the price/quality/design ratio promises a great future in terms of sales, which is a very good indicator in the currently overheated personal car market.

Video

The new Nissan Micra first appeared before the general public at the annual Paris International Motor Show in the fall of 2016. In fact, the model is a full-fledged fifth generation, and not another planned restyling. It will not be difficult to distinguish the new product from its predecessor; it has shaped elongated headlights with large reflectors and elegant sections of daytime running lights. The radiator grille is made in the corporate style. It sports a large chrome V-shaped trim, the manufacturer's logo and is visually adjacent to the air intake on the front bumper. On the sides of it, you can see special recesses with angular fog lights. In general, the car received a radically new, dynamic and eye-catching appearance that can attract a wider audience.

Nissan Micra Dimensions

Nissan Micra is positioned as a compact five-door B class hatchback. Its overall dimensions are: length 3999 mm, width 1743 mm, height 1455 mm, and wheelbase 2525 mm. The ground clearance of the Nissan Micra is 145 millimeters. This ground clearance is typical for dynamic city cars. They hold the road well, have good maneuverability and can even climb small curbs while parking.

The trunk of the Nissan Micra has an average volume for this class. With the backrests of the second row of seats raised, up to 300 liters of free space remains in the rear. Thanks to this spaciousness, the car is perfect for the daily tasks of a city dweller. However, during a long trip with a lot of luggage, the hatchback may lose its practicality.

The Nissan Micra is equipped with two engines, manual gearboxes and exclusively front-wheel drive. Thanks to a good set of components, the car becomes quite versatile and is able to satisfy most of the needs of the urban car enthusiast.

  • The base engine of the Nissan Micra is an in-line turbocharged three-cylinder petrol unit with a displacement of 898 cubic centimeters. The turbocharger allowed it to develop 86 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 2250 rpm. In this configuration, the hatchback accelerates to hundreds in 12.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 175 kilometers per hour. The fuel consumption of the Nissan Micra will be 6.5 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers at a city pace with frequent acceleration and braking, 3.7 liters during a measured trip on a country road and 4.8 liters of fuel per hundred in the combined driving cycle.
  • Nissan Micra is also equipped with a heavy fuel unit. This is an inline turbocharged diesel four with a volume of 1461 cubic centimeters. Thanks to the Common Rail system, engineers were able to squeeze out 89 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 220 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. With such an engine, the hatchback accelerates to hundreds in 11.9 seconds, and the speed ceiling, in turn, will be 179 kilometers per hour. Diesel engines are characterized by high torque and good efficiency. Fuel consumption of the Nissan Micra will be 4.3 liters per hundred in city driving, 3.4 liters on the highway and 3.6 liters of fuel in the combined driving cycle.

Bottom line

Nissan Micra keeps up with the times. It has a catchy and extraordinary design, which will perfectly emphasize the character and individuality of its owner. Such a car will not dissolve in the gray everyday traffic and will not get lost in a large parking lot of a shopping center. The salon is a kingdom of high-quality finishing materials, well-adjusted ergonomics, practicality and comfort. Even hours spent in a traffic jam will not cause unnecessary inconvenience. The manufacturer understands perfectly well that, first of all, the car should provide driving pleasure. That is why, under the hood of the hatchback there is an economical and technological power unit, which is an alloy of innovative technologies and legendary Japanese quality. Nissan Micra will last for many kilometers and will give you unforgettable emotions from your trip.

Secondary market October 28, 2008 More than they seem (Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra, Mitsubishi Colt)

Small class cars (European size segment B) from the Land of the Rising Sun are famous all over the world for their reliability and endurance. However, for modern buyers, reliability alone is not enough; they also need stylish appearance, spaciousness and functionality. Such cars are quite widely represented on our secondary market, and the most common of them are “Toyota Yaris” (1999-2006) with an intermediate restyling in 2003, “Nissan Micra” of the latest generation (from 2003 to modernization in 2005) and “ Mitsubishi Colt”, which has been sold with us since 2004.

Made for the city (Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra, Honda Jazz) Secondary market

Small cars in big cities feel like fish in water. They take up little space on the road; if necessary, they can turn around on any spot, and there are not many problems with parking. On the other hand, following automotive fashion and trying to please customers, manufacturers are doing everything to ensure that compact cars are not too inferior in terms of convenience and spaciousness to models of a higher class. Therefore, despite their modest external dimensions, they have relatively spacious interiors and trunks. In addition, small cars, as a rule, have a bright design, an affordable price, a fairly high level of passive and active safety, inexpensive maintenance and, as practice shows, quite “adult” reliability. Japanese compact models have all these advantages. The most common of them in our secondary market are “Toyota Yaris” (1999-2005), “Nissan Micra” of the latest generation (from 2003 to modernization in 2005) and “Honda Jazz”, which was produced from 2001 to the first restyling 2004. The Micra was produced as a three- or five-door hatchback. In addition, the Yaris model range also included a compact van. And Honda’s “Jazz” was produced only as a five-door hatchback. All cars had front-wheel drive and transversely mounted four-cylinder engines.

Durable toys (Nissan Micra, Toyota Yaris, Subaru Justy, Suzuki Swift) Secondary market

Compact models, standing one step below the golf class in the automotive hierarchy, are becoming increasingly popular among Russians. The small size is more than made up for by the advantages of these machines. They feel like fish in water in cramped city streets, where they always find room to maneuver and park. They are economical and will not undermine the family budget by spending on gasoline. What is important, they are often not inferior to foreign cars of higher ranks in reliability and survivability. Today we will talk about the Japanese representatives of this clan: “Nissan Micra” (1998-2003), “Toyota Yaris” (1999-2005), as well as the “Subaru Justy” and “Suzuki Swift” (1996) that have a common platform -2003). The production of all these models at different times was established in Europe: “Micra” was made in England, “Justy” and “Swift” were assembled at the same plant in Hungary, and “Yaris” was produced in France since 2001.

Very popular in European countries. They are no less in demand in our cities (especially in megacities, where there are constant problems with finding a parking space). These machines have a number of advantages. They are compact, cheap, easy to maintain and, importantly, economical. Nowadays there are many models of subcompact cars on the market. However, today we will pay attention to the Japanese auto industry. So, meet the Nissan Micra. Photos and review of the car are further in our article.

Description

So what kind of car is this? The Nissan Micra K12 is the third generation of subcompact hatchbacks from the Japanese manufacturer, first presented in 2001 at the Tokyo Motor Show.

A year later, mass production of the model began. The release lasted until 2010. The car was produced in several versions. This is a three- and five-door hatchback.

Appearance

The body design was developed by the European division of Nissan. Therefore, externally the car is no different from European small cars. So, at the front, the Micra received new, oval and bulging headlights, as well as a two-piece radiator grille with a small bumper. The body is dominated by smooth, rounded shapes. The Italian Fiat 500 has a similar design. It is worth noting that the third generation received a very progressive design. Even now this car looks good. But she is already about 15 years old.

It must be said that there are fans of tuning the Nissan Micra K12. Basically, wide rims are installed on this car, wheels are made and this style of tuning is called “stens” and it has gained great popularity not only in Japan, but also in Europe. An example of a tuned Nissan-Micra hatchback in the photo in the article.

Such a car will definitely stand out from the crowd and attract the attention of passers-by. But the downside of this tuning is the rigid (literally tooth-crushing) suspension and low ground clearance. Therefore, this is not suitable for everyday use for everyone.

"Nissan-Micra": body and corrosion

Surprisingly, Micra copes well with our harsh winters. The body does not rust when exposed to salty reagents. However, there are complaints about the thickness of the metal. So, it is quite thin and bends even with slight contact. The owners also have complaints regarding the quality of the paintwork. It's quite thin. Chips on the front of the Nissan Micra K12 are by no means uncommon. What significantly rusts is the exhaust system. It does not have any processing. Therefore, when buying a car second-hand, this is a significant reason to bargain.

Dimensions, ground clearance

The machine is small in size, which is not surprising. So, the length of the body is 3.8 meters, width - 1.67, height - 1.5 meters. At the same time, the car has low ground clearance. Its size is only 13.5 centimeters.

As reviews note, the Nissan Micra K12 is difficult to use on snowy roads or dirt roads. The car often gets stuck on the bottom. Therefore, it is advisable to use this car on smooth asphalt.

Salon

Inside, the Micra looks quite modest. There is no leather or special decorative inserts. The interior is made in a single color. For the driver - a simple three-spoke steering wheel, a manual seat with minimal lateral support and a simple instrument panel. On the center console there is a CD radio and a climate control unit. What surprises is the organization of free space. Due to the high roof, even tall passengers will be comfortable inside. You can also see various niches and shelves everywhere. They are under the steering wheel, on the center console, near the gearshift lever, and so on. The quality of finishing materials is not bad. It’s also rare that a ten-year-old car makes squeaks and extraneous noises.

The downside of this car is the quality of the steering wheel braid. The Japanese frankly saved money on this. The steering wheel wears out after 60-80 thousand kilometers. There are also complaints about durability and the ignition switch. In the latter case, the key may simply jam in the “start” position.

Trunk

It is small in the Micra - only 237 liters. But this is still more than the previous, second generation. This volume can also be expanded by folding the back of the rear seats. As a result, the trunk will increase to 584 liters. Among the problems can be identified the presence of moisture on the rear lights. Because of this, the contacts jam and the battery on the Nissan Micra K12 discharges.

Specifications

Basically, gasoline engines are installed here. But there are also diesel versions (more on them a little later). The most successful, judging by the reviews, is the 1.4-liter engine. This engine has acceptable dynamics (power from 88 to 98 horsepower depending on the modification), is economical (consumes 6.3 liters of gasoline per hundred) and practically does not require repairs (Nissan Micra K12).

But what engines you shouldn’t take are the 68-horsepower liter and the 1.2-liter engine. The first is downright sluggish, and the second consumes the same amount of fuel as a 1.4-liter, but the car accelerates weaker.

The lineup also includes a 1.6-liter engine. It is quite powerful - it develops 110 horsepower, but it consumes quite a lot of fuel. It takes about 9 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.

As for reliability, all gasoline engines have a good service life and are undemanding in repair. The gas distribution mechanism drive is chain. When replacing, it is also worth adjusting the valve clearances, since there are no hydraulic compensators.

Diesel "Micra"

The Nissan Micra K12 is also equipped with a one and a half liter diesel unit. This is a dCi engine from the French company Renault. This unit develops a power of 109 horsepower, has a timing belt drive and hydraulic valve compensators. This engine has the lowest fuel consumption. So, the diesel Nissan Micra K12 spends 4.6 liters per hundred in mixed mode. But diesel engines are quite rare in Russia. These cars were not officially imported into Russia. The dCi engine is demanding on fuel quality. After 150 thousand kilometers, the injectors may need to be replaced. Also at this mileage, the exhaust gas recirculation valve requires intervention. It is usually cut out by installing plugs and reflashing the electronic unit.

Transmission

The machine can be equipped with two gearboxes. It is a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. What do reviews say about these boxes? In general, the transmission on the Micra does not require frequent attention. If we talk about mechanics, the clutch needs to be replaced every 150 thousand. After 200 thousand, the third gear synchronizer and gearbox seals wear out.

The automatic transmission does not require attention for 250 thousand kilometers, but subject to timely replacement of the ATP fluid. The oil change schedule for an automatic transmission is 60 thousand kilometers. If a partial replacement is performed, this interval must be halved.

Chassis

The suspension on the Nissan Micra is quite simple. So, there is a MacPherson strut in front, and a dependent beam in the rear. If the car is used in the city, frequent intervention in the chassis is not required. By the way, many spare parts here come from Renault Clio. As for reliability, the stabilizer struts are the first to fail (after 50 thousand kilometers). Support, wheel bearings and shock absorbers last 100 thousand. After 110 it's time to change the front control arms. The remaining suspension elements last up to 150 thousand kilometers.

How does this car behave on the move? Unfortunately, the suspension here is a bit harsh. The car is not very smooth. You need to take turns carefully, otherwise the rear end will skid.

Nissan-Micra: price

Now the third generation is not mass-produced, and therefore such cars can only be found on the secondary market. How much does Nissan Micra cost now? The price starts from 210 thousand rubles for models produced in 2002. The latest versions, released in 2010, can be purchased for 430 thousand rubles. Interestingly, the mileage on these cars rarely exceeds 180 thousand. This car really doesn’t have a lot of mileage, so you can find a copy in quite good condition.

Let's sum it up

So, we found out what the Nissan-Micra car is. Among the strengths of the car it is worth highlighting:

  • Modern appearance.
  • Maneuverability.
  • Corrosion-resistant body.
  • Reliable and economical engines.
  • Durable suspension.

Among the disadvantages it should be noted:

  • Small trunk.
  • Small ground clearance.
  • Modest interior design.
  • Weak acceleration dynamics.

But in general, the Nissan Micra is an excellent car for the city, which will not require a lot of money for repairs and will start in any frost. Yes, it was not possible to transport large loads on it. But the machine performs its task (transporting people from point A to point B) 100 percent. In addition, the cost of the car is very affordable.

The compact urban hatchback Nissan Micra has been produced since 1982. During its production, the car was repeatedly modernized, becoming more and more perfect, safer and more comfortable to use.

Among the main advantages of the model, it should be noted the presence of an unusual, positive body design. In the bow, large oval-shaped headlight units stand out, mounted on cylindrical wings raised above the hood. A relief surface is formed at the stern, the bumpers are reinforced so that the likelihood of their deformation during contact parking is eliminated. The cabin glass is thickened, inserted into high-quality seals, this has a positive effect on the sound insulation of the cabin. The options include a system for keyless access to the car and engine start; the driver only needs to have a chip key in his pocket in order to lock/unlock the doors. Active safety equipment is represented by ABS, EBD, Nissan Brake Assist systems, the front seats are equipped with heating, and an electric drive for changing positions.

Exterior

There are almost no straight edges on the Nissan body, all the lines of the Micra are rounded, the body elements have harmonious transitions into each other. Expanding, ascending cylindrical wings extend from the windshield pillars, headlight units are built into their end part at a 20-degree angle, they are shaped elongated oval. The space under the headlights is occupied by a shaped strip of the radiator grille covered with a fine mesh. The surface below the radiator is occupied by a wide trapezoidal air intake; from the inside it is closed with several plastic horizontal strips. The wheel arches have an insignificant expansion; a shallow dome is formed on the roof at the stern, ending with a wide spoiler. The glass of the trunk doors is given a pentagonal shape, the ovals of the brake lights are installed in a vertical direction, and the center of the rear bumper is allocated for a niche intended for mounting a license plate. The body dimensions are 3780/1675/1525 mm, the front/rear track dimensions are 1470/1475 mm. To make a full turn, the hatchback requires a diameter of 9 meters and a wheelbase of 2450 mm. Tire size is 165/70 R14 or 175/60 R15, the car's curb weight is 940 kg, trunk volume is 265 liters, this space is expandable to 1132 liters.

Interior

The interior design of Nissan attracts attention with its original design; straight, massive armrests are mounted on the doors of the Micra; a lot of space is left between the rows of seats so that the knees of passengers of average height do not rest against the backs of the front seats. The surface of the seats is covered with covers made of light fabric, velor, natural or eco leather, the seats have an elastic cushion under the knees, and lumbar support is built into the backrests. Between the front seats there is a semicircular plastic platform, it contains a handbrake lever and several large keys for activating special driving modes. The transmission selector is installed on a separate raised plane, the console protrudes from the front panel, in its lower part there is a circle with control keys for the machine’s service systems printed on it. Above this element are built-in controls and an information system display; the console is crowned with air duct cylinders. The center of the instrument panel is dedicated to the layout of a large digital speedometer scale; semicircles of other scales adjoin it. The steering wheel spokes, trimmed with silver inserts, have flat joysticks for controlling car audio functions.

Specifications

The Nissan Micra hatchback is driven by an 80-horsepower economical engine. It has a volume of 1198 cm3, develops 110 Nm of torque, acceleration dynamics to hundreds is 14.5 seconds, top speed is 161 km/h, gasoline consumption in the combined operating cycle is 5.4 liters.

The Nissan Micra is a compact car with a transverse engine and front-wheel drive.

The first generation Nissan Micra was born in February 1982 as a three-door hatchback, and in 1987 a 5-door version was released. The second generation model was first shown in January 1992, and exported in November of the same year. In 1993, the Micra won the European Car of the Year award. In the fall of 1995, partial design changes were made. In the fall of 1997, a version with a pitched roof with electric wiring was released. In 1998, new versions of the car were presented in Geneva.

The cars were equipped with 4-cylinder in-line gasoline engines with an electronic injection system with a volume of 1.0 and 1.3 liters and a power of 54 and 75 hp. With. respectively; five-speed or continuously variable CTV automatic transmission. Maximum speed 150 and 170 km/h. There is a modification with a 1.6 liter Peugeot swirl chamber diesel engine with a power of 57 hp. s., maximum speed 146 km/h.

In 2002, the third generation of the Micra was presented at the Paris Motor Show.

Compared to the second-generation car, which lasted on the production line for 11 years and more than once became the best-selling model in its class, the current Micra has become slightly shorter (length decreased by 21 mm), but wider (+65 mm) and taller (+100 mm) . The wheelbase increased by 70 mm and amounted to 2,430 mm. Thus, the reduction in the length of the car did not come at the expense of interior volume, but due to the front and rear overhangs. The narrow and short Micra can easily squeeze into a small gap between cars in traffic jams, and there will be no problems with parking. The turning radius of the machine is only 4.5 meters. True, compactness also has a downside. The short wheelbase makes itself felt on rough roads.

Micra 2002 is an international car. Its exterior was entirely designed in Japan, where the car is sold as the Nissan March, and the interior was created by Nissan's European Design Studio. Intended for the European market, the Nissan Micra was designed at the technical center in Cranfield (UK) and assembled at the Nissan plant in Sunderland.

The avant-garde “arc-shaped” design makes the Micra stand out from the “automotive crowd”. The characteristic arched curves of the front and rear bumpers are connected by a wide side line with a rolling wave effect running along the entire length of the car. This, on the one hand, provides a more comfortable driving position, on the other hand, gives a feeling of greater comfort and space inside the car. The goggle-eyed headlights are the hallmark of the car and make it stand out from the crowd of its classmates. Along the edges of the radiator grille there are protruding lenses for the side lights. The taillights have a jewel-like glow that highlights the clear, round brake lights and turn signal lights. Driving backwards in cramped conditions is even easier: no more than 10 cm remains from the edge of the rear window to the end of the car. Large windows increase visibility and make the car interior lighter, airier and more open. But the side mirrors of the Nissan Micra are small. Another little secret - when entering the tunnel there is no need to turn on the lights - they are constantly on, and at night the headlights guide the owner to the front door of the house, as she continues to illuminate the path for another two minutes. And if she forgot to turn off the lights in the cabin, after a while the lamps go out automatically.

Despite the modest external dimensions inside, the Micra has a fairly compact and at the same time spacious interior, so that people of almost any height and build can sit comfortably behind the wheel, for which, in addition to the standard set of adjustments, it is possible to change the seat height. The two-story dashboard is clear and informative. And the audio system control buttons located on the steering wheel help you not to be distracted on the road. The on-board computer menu is simple and convenient; you can even enter particularly significant dates into it, then the car will congratulate you on your birthday or wedding anniversary. Apparently, wanting to prove to everyone that the Micra is really a 5-seater car, the interior designers managed to fit five cup holders into it: a double cup holder for the driver and front passenger located at the base of the center console, a holder located in the side trim and one closing one nestled in the tunnel.

In addition, the car has excellent additional capabilities for transporting things. Let's start with the fact that under the front passenger seat there is a fairly spacious compartment where you can put anything you want, from a bag to all sorts of small things. The glove compartment has a special compartment for A4 paper, which is perfect for business women. And to the left of the glove compartment there is a hook hidden on which you can hang a bag of groceries. The car is also equipped with an ISOFIX child seat mount. In this case, the rear seats can be pushed all the way to the front ones and you won’t have to reach for the baby. Also, the rear sofa moved forward provides an excellent opportunity to put bags there and not be afraid that during sudden braking they will fall to the floor. By the way, with this position of the rear seat, the trunk volume increases by 1.5 times (from 251 to 371 liters).

The Micra has practical solutions that are important for everyday use, designed to make the vehicle easier to use. For example, an electronic chip key that allows you to open and close the interior and trunk doors, as well as start the car without inserting the key into the lock. The car detects the proximity of the chip key within 80 cm of the car, after which the doors automatically open and close by simply pressing a button. To start the engine, a key is also not needed; it is enough that it is somewhere in the car. In addition to the chip key system, the Micra has the ability to remind you to fasten your seat belts if you haven't done so. In addition to the above, the car has rain sensors, although in heavy rain the antennae wipers do not do their job very well. Confident behavior of the car on the road is ensured by all sorts of smart systems such as ABS, EBD and Break Assist. Since September 2003, Micras with petrol engines have been equipped with an ESP anti-skid system.

All third-generation Nissan Micra engines are either redesigned or significantly improved. The car is available with three types of gasoline engines and two types of turbodiesel (dCi) with direct injection and a common rail system. The three petrol engines belong to the CR series engine family. These are 4-cylinder all-aluminum 16-valve engines with 2 overhead camshafts, equipped with a variable valve timing system (VTC). They have a volume of 1.0, 1.2 and 1.4 liters with outputs of 48 kW (65 hp), 59 kW (80 hp) and 65 kW (88 hp) respectively. A 1.2 liter petrol engine is also available in some markets with 48 kW (65 hp). Since April 2003, the Micra has been available in Europe with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine producing 48 kW (65 hp) equipped with a common rail system. In September 2003, a more powerful version of this engine was released - with intercooling with a power of 60 kW (82 hp) and a torque of 185 Nm at 2000 rpm.

A five-speed manual gearbox is standard on all engines, while the 1.2 and 1.4-litre Micras also come with a four-speed automatic transmission.

The third generation Micra is now more comfortable, quieter and more refined, thanks to the introduction of hydraulic engine mounts to reduce vibration and a new front subframe that absorbs road noise and vibration.

A high level of safety for the driver, passengers and pedestrians includes three main components: information (information that the driver receives necessary for full control over the car), active (electronic systems ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ESP) and passive safety (seat belts). , active head restraints, frontal, side and side curtain airbags, as well as energy-absorbing materials for door trim and other interior parts).

Nissan Micra won first place in its class for theft protection in special tests conducted by the English magazine What Car?. This test not only assesses the performance of anti-theft systems, but also the overall attractiveness of the car to a thief. In addition to the effectiveness of the keyless entry system, an important factor that influenced the experts’ assessment was that the Nissan Micra is painted in unusual, bright colors. Car thieves don’t like to mess with conspicuous cars and, quite likely, will choose another, less bright car to steal.

In 2010, the fourth generation Micra premiered at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is based on a completely new platform. The Micra still offers a relatively spacious cabin with modest exterior dimensions. Being the smallest in the Japanese manufacturer's lineup, this car is perfect for city trips. The geography of production has expanded noticeably; in addition to Japan and Europe, the car is produced at factories in Thailand, India, Mexico and China.

The fourth generation Micra is slightly larger than its predecessor in terms of external dimensions. The baby has become only 5 mm wider and 61 mm longer than its predecessor, compensating for the increase in these dimensions with a smaller height of 15 mm. The wheelbase has also grown by 20 mm. But we managed to lose as much as 35 kg in the weight of the machine. The design has undergone significant changes. The front of the car received almond-shaped headlights and round fog lamps. The shoulder line sloping back from the engine cover continues along the A-pillars, which extend to the middle of the roof. For this reason, a transparent panoramic roof is easily installed in expensive versions of the Micra. In accordance with fashion trends, the front part of the car is made in the form of a monolithic part, where the bumper is combined with the radiator grille. Door handles, huge side mirrors and anti-scratch molding brought fresh currents to the body profile. The rear part received a roof spoiler and nice vertical block lamps.

New exterior paint colors have been developed specifically for the Micra 2010. In addition to the traditional red, gray, black, white and silver, three individual ones have appeared: Spring Green (spring green), Tangerine (tangerine) and Nightshade (nightshade).

The interior design is done very competently. The gauge cluster is composed of circles and semi-circles, and fits well with Nissan's well-known three-spoke steering wheel with round vents. Comfortable seating in all seats, including the rear bench. The driver's seat is height adjustable.

You can choose from the traditional Nissan configurations Visia, Acenta and the top-end Tekla, which is distinguished, among other things, by the presence of external chrome trim or alloy wheels, light plastic inserts in the cabin and, of course, a wealth of equipment.

However, the “base” of the Micra 2010 is in any case richer than that of its predecessor. All versions include air conditioning, central locking with remote control, a folding driver's armrest, a tilt-adjustable steering column and electric power steering. Safety systems include ABS with ESP, front and side airbags, curtain airbags and automatic door locking.

And as an advanced urban exotic, luxury elements such as the PSM system are optionally offered, which helps the driver determine whether there is enough space in the parking lot.

The trunk size has increased from 251 to 265 liters. If desired, you can fold the rear seat backs separately and increase the luggage compartment to 1130 liters.

Under the hood is a 3-cylinder 12-valve HR12DE. With a displacement of 1198 cubic meters and a compression ratio of 10.7, the all-aluminum unit produces up to 80 horsepower at 6 thousand rpm. Maximum torque – 110 Nm. The power unit is paired with a manual 5-speed gearbox or a V-belt CVT. In the combined cycle with a manual transmission, the car consumes only 5 liters of gasoline per 100 km. The engine is one of the cleanest engines in the world and has a CO2 emissions level of 115 g/km. And this is as much as 75% less than its predecessor. It’s not for nothing that the 2010 Nissan Micra has the Pure Drive nameplate (“pure movement”) on the rear.

At the end of March 2013, a presentation of the restyled version of the Nissan Micra 2014 model year took place in Thailand. Among the main updates is a new platform, on which, by the way, the Nissan Juke is produced. After restyling, the car has noticeably changed in appearance. The front part of the hatchback was radically redesigned - the shape of the headlights, hood, bumper and radiator grille changed. It has become more expressive and at the same time brought into line with the corporate style of the Nissan brand. The stern received LED lights, a modified bumper and some decorative elements.

The modernization affected not only the external image, but also the interior. Inside the model, the quality of the materials used has been improved, the available color range has been expanded, but most importantly, the center console has noticeably changed, where, among other things, round ventilation nozzles have given way to rectangular ones. Now the driver and passengers of the Micra can take advantage of a 12-volt socket for charging mobile devices and additional USB and AUX inputs for playing information from portable players and memory storage devices.

An important innovation is the 5.8-inch navigation system monitor, which will not only help you get to your destination along the most economical route, but will also let you know the weather, report traffic jams and show the album cover of the music in your library. A new parking system with smart sensors will inform you about the most suitable parking spot and skillfully adjust the driver’s actions, taking into account his driving skills.

The technical part of the car has remained virtually unchanged - the modernization affected only some electronic systems and equipment. The list of available equipment has also been expanded.

Three trim levels are offered – Visia, Acenta and Tekna. The equipment of the basic Visia includes: central locking with remote control, electric power steering and front windows, electric power steering, 14-inch wheels, ABS, ESP, front and side airbags and side curtains.

The Acenta package includes chrome trim, body-colored side mirrors and door handles, 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear roof spoiler, air conditioning, an armrest between the front seats, a leather steering wheel, an audio system with CD and Bluetooth support.

Finally, the maximum Tekna configuration includes automatic air conditioning, parking sensors, a multimedia system and NissanConnect navigation. There are also fog lights, light and rain sensors, electric folding side mirrors, and suede seat trim. For an extra charge, this version will offer 16-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a chip key and improved interior trim.

The 2014 Nissan Micra is powered by two engines. The first 3-cylinder petrol engine with a volume of 1.2 liters and 80 horsepower. The second engine is of the same volume, but already diesel and with a power of 98 hp. The engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, but it is possible to install a CVT continuously variable transmission.
