So far, the Subaru Forester 4 is a little disappointing (not even a little). I don’t understand what kind of suspension it has: it shakes on small bumps and sways. It drives well only on ideal roads.
I changed the tires to summer ones and it got even worse. Summer tires are stiffer and add a terrible noise. The car has no sound insulation at all. No one is complaining about the suspension, I’ll go to the service center to change the oil at 5,000 km and try to find out what the reason is.
Although in this price category, it seems, not the worst option. All cars began to become cheaper. You'll have to get used to it. And the car is cool, beautiful, laconic. In the "reliability" rating - an "A" in hope.

With the new Subaru Forester SJ you can do any “reconnaissance”, I trust you 100%, in terms of trouble-free operation and reliability. I ran it in without exceeding 4,000 rpm, as recommended.
Now the odometer shows 5,000 km. The completed MOT-0 was quite expensive. As for the dynamics, it starts smoothly, which is unusual for me, because this is my first experience with a CVT.
Many people criticize the 150-horsepower version, but there are no complaints about this one. The power is felt and is quite enough for overtaking.
But the Shumka is a C grade. The engine sounds unpleasant at high speeds, not as noble as you expect.

Where can I buy?
Very maneuverable and soft, comfortable seat for my bad back, low gas mileage. I didn’t like the interior of the Forester, but my husband insisted, we bought it in 2016.
I wanted an Outback, but the price was too low. My second car is a Toyota Highlander, but it’s not even close to the driving pleasure.
Disadvantages: thin metal. When you take your foot off the gas instantly, it stops - very unusual, you need to apply gas all the time. And the stove is very weak, it takes a long time to heat up and it’s still cold in the car, even at maximum temperature.

I bought a Forester yesterday at the Sumotori Vladivostok car dealership. I came from Ussuriysk with one goal - to go back in a new car, I studied Drom and other car sites, read reviews of the new Forester for a year.
In the cabin with ready-made docks there was only one with a 2.0-liter engine in the VM configuration. This is the maximum speed for cars with this engine. There are headlights with a turn-on lighting function, leather, memory seats, warmers front and rear, heated steering wheel and much more.
To be honest, I didn’t think that after Toyota jeeps it would be possible to impress me with anything else, but it turns out I was mistaken. I'm impressed with the ride. Of course not a Prado, but in comparison with the X-Trails and RAV-4 it’s just a song. Really kind of elastic. She ignores holes, bumps, etc.
I was worried about the dynamics of the engine, but it turns out it runs and drives well. The combination of engine and variator is simply a song, in comparison with the X-Trail in the 31st body (I had one like that) - a huge difference. It’s too early to write about consumption, the mileage is only 130 km, but according to the computer it says 9 liters per 100 km. And this is during the run-in.
The salon is very comfortable and large, I thought it would be smaller. The trunk is also not bad, suitable for traveling to the sea.
Review of Subaru Forester 4 2.0 (150 hp) CVT 2016
So I became the owner of a Subaru Forester. The first emotions from the car are positive. I was pleased with the consumption on a car that had not been run in: 270 km, and the consumption was about 12 liters.
Oddly enough, Shumka is not bad. Even the 2.0 engine coupled with a CVT behaves well, the suspension is comfortable. So far, happy as a boa constrictor!
A small addition. The mileage is currently 5,600 km, everything seems to be fine so far. Since there is no snow yet, we drive on asphalt. Well, what can I say, the standard noise level of the new Forester is quite normal, the hum of the tires is not that much audible.
I like Forester. I'm very happy with its suspension. I had to go to Parabel (if you’re from Tomsk, you know what it’s like there), and so he behaves on that track just super!

Appearance
The manufacturer worked on the exterior of the SUV, almost imperceptibly going over the body. The updated Subaru Forester 2017 now looks like this:
- The front part is decorated with a new sports bumper and a stylish radiator grille with large cells.
- Updated headlights instead of outdated halogen-xenon bulbs. The updated configuration includes lensed optics, complemented by LED low and high beam lamps. Added automatic headlight washers.

In this category, the Subaru Forester has virtually no equal among the participants in the review. The driver's and behind-the-driver positions earned it the highest scores of the five. Even the low score for the trunk didn't spoil the picture. In most other respects, the Forester also outperforms its rivals in terms of visibility. A good separation from competitors is given by points received for options. An improvement of several tenths of a point was also achieved by the assessment of controls, instruments and climate control. In terms of light and visibility, only the Mitsubishi Outlander can compete with the Forester, which, like the Forester, scored 4.1 points in this discipline. Well, far from the best interior materials did not have a significant impact on the situation.

The creators have worked hard on the off-road qualities of the Subaru Forester. This is evidenced by its leading position in our review with a score of 13.2 points. The closest in terms of points from our chosen five is the Land Rover Freelander. In terms of articulation, however, the main character of our review was inferior to all the other four crossovers. It’s interesting that the standard wheel size of the Lesnik is the worst of the five. Forester is also not protected in the best way. Here it was beaten by three participants: Land Rover Freelander, Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail. But the ratings for the corners, clearances and transmission cover all the shortcomings.

In the “Expedition Performance” category, the Subaru Forester is the penultimate one in the review. It would seem that most of the ratings are at the level of the presented “classmates”. Best handling, second place for acceleration dynamics. Ride comfort at the level of leaders. Fuel consumption is also good. But still, there are two parameters that determined the state of affairs in this nomination: the smallest load capacity among the review participants and the low rating for the spare tire. As a result, Forester is content with a score of 16.5 points, beating only the outsider Chevrolet Captiva in this category.
