Comparative review of the performance characteristics of Lada XRay and Renault Sandero Stepway. Does ICS affect rankings?

In this article we will analyze the main points related to the introduction of a new website quality indicator according to Yandex - ICS:

Let's start with a definition.

What is ICS

IKS (Site Quality Index) is a value showing the quality of the resource.

By ICS, first of all, we mean that the site is in demand by the audience. The more the site satisfies the needs of users, the higher the index will be. Those. It is important to get not just a lot of targeted traffic, but also the trust of visitors to the site.

The order of the ICS remains the same as that of the TCI - 10, 20, 40, 150, 500, 1200, etc. Those. the smallest IKS indicator is 10, and the largest... is not officially announced, I think you can look for it on a specific date today, however, there is no limit to perfection, and it is unlikely that this figure will remain unchanged.

But to start from something, let’s look at the most popular search engine in the world - Google’s IQ as of September 3, 2018 was 120,000.

Why Yandex replaced TCI with ICS

On August 22, 2018, Yandex announced the imminent cancellation of the TCI and its replacement with a new value - IKS.

August 31, 2018 at 21:00 Yandex made its promise come true, the TCI was abolished. Yes, they weren’t just abolished, but replaced with a new metric - the site quality index.

Why did Yandex decide to replace the TCI with ICS?

First, let's remember what a TCI is.

TCI is a thematic citation index, which was determined based on the quantity and quality of referring sites.

TCI appeared back in 1999, when links played a significant role in website promotion - then TCI was an important indicator of the site’s authority. Recently, the TCI served only to rank sites in the Yandex catalog, but did not in any way affect the ranking of sites in search. There could be sites in the TOP with zero TCI, and in the background - with good indicators, and this was the norm.

But time passes, and after 20 years the TCI has become morally outdated, it no longer reflects reality, and it has long been impossible to talk about the quality of the site based on the TCI.

Nowadays, the ranking of sites in search engines is influenced by many factors, not just links. And there is a long overdue need for a metric that will show how much a site lags behind its competitors, in order to clearly understand whether you are keeping pace or whether there is a colossal gap between you.

This is the size that the ICS should become. TCI is no longer used; wherever it was in Yandex Services, it was replaced by ICS.

If your site had a large TCI, then it is not a fact that there will be a large TCI. These are completely two different metrics. One is about links, the other is about quality.

How is ICS calculated?

“When calculating the quality index, the size of the site’s audience, the degree of user satisfaction, the level of trust in the site from users and Yandex, as well as other criteria are taken into account. Data from Yandex services are used for calculations.”

“When calculating the ICS, we intend to use all kinds of data we have both about the site and the business behind it. This data can be obtained both from Search and from any other Yandex services: for example, Metrics, Maps, Zen, and so on. As this data is taken into account, the algorithm for calculating the ICS will change. Therefore, we are now introducing it in beta form.”

If we look at both quotes, we see that Yandex is increasingly trying to evaluate not the site itself, but rather the business that stands behind this site.

All Yandex services are taken into account - from Zen to Yandex.Maps. And now you simply must access all these services so that Yandex understands your business better.

A few more words about calculating the indicator. The ICS is calculated for all sites participating in Yandex search according to the same logic, i.e. there is no division by topic, period of existence or any other parameters. Before the ICS, all sites are equal.

Yandex reserves the right to change this indicator at its discretion without notice, as well as to reset it for attempts to cheat the indicator or other violations (with the help of Yandex in in this case the link goes to a description of Fatal problems in Yandex.Webmaster, so keep an eye on them).

What exactly influences the calculation of the indicator, of course, is not announced, but since we are talking about user satisfaction, it makes sense to look at behavioral factors on the site - where users get to the site from, where they drop off, how long they stay on the site, how many pages are viewed on average, etc.

Do you want your site's ICS to grow? Improve the business itself and the website - make it clearer and more convenient for users.

In fact, even in personal purposes It would be great to understand what kind of business is behind the resource - can you trust and make a purchase on this site or is it better to choose the site of a trusted giant, even if the goods there cost a little more.

How to find out the ICS indicator for your website - 3 options

Finding out the ICS indicator for your website is quite simple.

Option 1. View in Summary.

Log in to Yandex.Webmaster. You can see the ICS of your site, for example, on the My Sites page or directly in the Site Summary - at the bottom there is a block showing the current ICS indicator:

This is what the XI indicator looks like on the My Sites page:

Option 2: Set up notifications

To do this, go to the Settings page in Yandex.Webmaster.

In the “Address for mail notifications” block, select the email to which you want to receive notifications from the Webmaster.

Indicate that you want to receive notifications by email (put the email icon next to “Weekly site summary”):

Option 3. Look in a special section

Enter the website address in the field. Click the Find button.

How to find out your competitors' ICS

It’s the third option, which we just looked at, that allows you to find out the ICS of any site.

Just enter the site address on the special ICS page and click the Find button.

We have already played around a little, and here are the ICS indicators recorded for popular sites as of September 3, 2018:

Website X
google.com 120 000
sberbank.ru 75 000
en.wikipedia.org 69 000
mvideo.ru 31 000
ozon.ru 30 000
eldorado.ru 24 000

In addition, you can inform your site’s ICS for visitors using a special icon, the code of which is in the Webmaster Settings:

Just add this code to the site, usually similar icons are located in the footer of the site. Now the ICS is an indicator that you can be proud of; you can safely post it on your website for everyone to see.

No information about ICS

Sometimes Yandex does not show the ICS. What to do if, instead of the treasured number, you see the message “no information about ICS”?

Yandex gives three reasons:

  1. The website address is incorrect. Check that there are no typos anywhere.
  2. It may be that the site is simply not participating in the search yet - in this case, check that the rights are confirmed in Yandex.Webmaster and look at the Site Diagnostics section, especially pay attention to fatal problems. Perhaps you broke something or did not configure it.
  3. The site appeared in searches recently, the ICS have not yet been calculated.

Does ICS affect a site's position in Yandex?

I won’t spoil your brains, I’ll say it straight away and simply - NO, it doesn’t affect it.

ICS is a consequence, not a cause. That is why, with the introduction of ICS, the positions of sites in the search results have not changed, because all ranking factors are already taken into account, and ICS is not one of them.

ICS is not an algorithm. This is an indicator of the current state of the site.

ICS can make it clear how far your site is from the TOP - just compare the indicator of your site with the ICS of your competitors and you will understand how much you are winning or losing in this race, or maybe you are neck and neck.

How to raise the ICS of your site

For example, let’s look at the results for the request “buy women’s high boots.” If we don’t take into account giants like tiu, wildberries, avito and others, then the closest ones we can compare are two sites - mongolskieunty.ru and shkurkin.ru:

The site that is closer to the TOP has an IKR of 110, and shkurkin.ru has an IKR of only 20. Not walking to the moon, of course, but the distance between these sites, judging by the IKI indicator, is decent.

As Elena Pershina herself (Yandex employee) notes, there may well be a correlation between the ICS and a place in the TOP (as opposed to the TCI):

How to increase the ICS of your website and catch up with your competitors?

It's simple - we start comparing what our competitor has that we don't. Why is that site considered higher quality, according to Yandex, but mine is not.

Those. The easiest place to start is to find a competitor whose ICS is higher than ours. And it’s better not one, but several. If you look at the website mongolskieunty.ru:

It becomes visually clear that mongolskieunty.ru is nicer than shkurkin.ru:

We wrote about how to correctly select and analyze competitors in this article. Therefore, I won’t dwell on this in detail, just look for suitable competitors, see where your site is inferior to them, and make your site even better: don’t look for magic pills, buy links, write foot wraps of content to influence the ICS - you’ll only make things worse .

10 more facts about ICS

  1. If the site has a mirror, then the index of the non-main mirror will be equal to the index of the main one. .
  2. If a site has a subdomain, then the IKS indicator of the site subdomain will be equal to the indicator of the main domain.
  3. The IKS indicator reflects the usefulness of the site for users. If your site’s ICS is small, try not to look for ways to increase the ICS, look for ways to improve the site.
  4. The ICS is planned to be updated once a month.
  5. If an ICS competitor has a site twice as large as yours, this does not mean that he receives twice as much traffic, but it does mean that his site is of higher quality, according to Yandex. However, X is not the same as traffic!
  6. If earlier you could ignore the TIC, now the ICS is good indicator, along with traffic, bounce rates and other useful metrics. It is worth following its changes.
  7. The IKS indicator can and should be compared with the indicators of competitors in order to understand how much better or worse your site is than others in the niche.
  8. Surely there will be those who will offer to cheat on the ICS. Don’t give in - ICS is not a cause, but a consequence; boosting it will not give you traffic and growth in positions.
  9. IN soon ICS will also appear in the Webmaster API. And that means in our clients’ reports.
  10. The principles for calculating the ICS are also used by Yandex to calculate the main search quality metric. So there is a correlation between the place in the search results and the ICS.

In general, the launch of ICS is great news for the entire industry. Stop looking only at links, it’s time to create a quality business. Now Yandex.Webmaster offers so many opportunities for this:

Not long ago I introduced Trends, where you can track how much better or worse a site is in the industry:

Recently I launched Yandex.Dialogues - now you can communicate with clients directly from the search:

I made a turbo page debugger:

You can even specify Products and prices in Webmaster and make awesome snippets for your website:

And this is only a tiny part of the enormous possibilities.

By the way, we can set up, connect and monitor all this for your website so that the quality of the business (and therefore its ICS) is at its best.

If you need a turnkey service, I recommend the SEO plan on a regular basis, where we work on your site on an individual basis. By the way, every 6th month is almost free.

Website Quality Index (SQI) - what is it? What is the difference between ICS and TIC? How to increase the ICS and where can you check it? Does ICS affect search results and SEO? You will find answers to all these questions on this page.

How is ICS calculated?

We've been waiting for ICS for a long time. The TIC was not updated for more than six months + all sorts of hints from Yandex: it was clear that something was coming. And finally, on August 22, 2018, a new belly shirt was announced, and on the 31st it was released. Will it affect new index on the current state of affairs in SEO and should we expect major changes?

Site quality index (SQI) is a number characterizing user satisfaction with the site, based on Yandex ranking factors. The index shows how high quality the site looks in the eyes of users. In other words, the indicator is significantly influenced by behavioral factors: refusals, viewing depth, time spent and others. Naturally, link mass is still a significant factor, but the era of TICs is over.

What is the difference between ICS and TIC?

The TIC, introduced back in 1999, was a good idea. It showed the authority of the site based on the number and quality of external links from other resources. Since then, all SEO has been geared towards promotion through links.

But search engines have developed and the understanding has come that it is stupid to determine the quality of a site by the number of purchased links alone. Now is the time mobile applications, social networks and the concept of usability has become increasingly common in the speeches of webmasters and SEOs. The TIC no longer gives a complete picture of the quality of the site and has become a subject of speculation.

The difference between TIC and ICS is in different algorithms for calculating these indices. TIC used only data on the number of backing and trust of sources. ICS uses all available data about the site, and if there is a company behind the site, then data about it: information from Webmaster, Yandex.Metrica, Maps, Zen, Directory and others.

How to find out the site quality index?

The TIC will no longer exist; it has already been removed from the Webmaster panel. Soon it will disappear from all link exchanges. Previously, everyone measured themselves by their citation indexes, but what now? How to find out your ICS and how to find out your competitors’ ICS?

Want to measure your X? Easier than steamed turnips! ICS is a publicly available indicator; it can be easily checked using the internal service in the Webmaster panel.

You can also install the X button on your website. To do this, in the Webmasters Settings/ICS Icon section, you need to insert the address of your site, configure the color and language of the icon. After this, a code will be generated that can be inserted into any convenient place on your website.

How does ICS affect SEO?

In general, it’s stupid to even talk about the influence of ICS on search results. Search results have not changed at all with the introduction of ICS. It is not the index that affects the search results, but rather the opposite - the better the site, the higher it is in the search results, the higher the index it has.

Even before the release of the ICS, many webmasters believed that the new belly shirt would generally correspond to the TIC. Many also wrote about the strong correlation between ICS and attendance. But here there is rather an inverse relationship - the higher the traffic, the better the quality of the site, and therefore the ICS.

ICS is an interesting indicator. Comparing the ICS of a high-quality site of one topic with trust sites from another topic makes no sense at all. But the ICS shows well the difference in sites of the same topic, among competitors. X will help you understand whether the site is moving in the right direction in the search results.

It was easy to get the TIC. It was enough to buy good bold links. Eh, Good times were. With ICS, things are more complicated. Firstly, Yandex does not reveal all its cards; under the hood of the ICS there may be unspoken ranking factors, of which there are most likely many. Secondly, and voiced in abundance. Therefore, simply cheating one thing will not do.

Main criterion high ICS- user satisfaction with the resource. And what is included in this concept: hundreds of factors and metrics. This includes the size of the resource’s audience, usability, and the level of trust of visitors.

There is no upper bar for the baby bump either. At the time of release, the first line of the maximum ICS indicator was shared between VK and YouTube - 340,000 each.

The ICS will be updated once a month. The output will be updated independently of the ICS - flies separately, cutlets separately. As I already said, the ICS indicator only vaguely resembles the TIC, however, in many cases the values coincide or are close. Link mass is still one of the ranking criteria.

Attempts to cheat IKS are just a waste of time. Rather, run into sanctions from Yasha and reset the indicator. The only one in an effective way increasing IKS is the creation of SDL (sites for people). And this means comprehensive work above the resource: creating a user-friendly interface, relevant interesting content, high-quality code, page loading speed and much more.

IKS 20 - is it a lot or a little

On my blog, the XI is 20. The TIC used to be 10. I have never been driven by the size of the TIC, but the XI of 20, as a complex indicator, upset me a little. However, I'm not going to build it up on purpose. It seems to me that it is worth trying to increase the ICS, and solve the problems of site visitors. The dynamics of the ICS, first of all, should show how successful or unsuccessful the changes on the site are. This is the main benefit of this index.

New domestic sedan Lada Vesta interested many people who were planning to buy a car. However, when the Lada X-Ray hatchback was released, many were confused as to which was better. Give preference to the familiar and comfortable sedan at a low cost or still pay more and get a powerful and practical hatchback.

Lada Vesta or Xray, which is better? To answer this question correctly, it is necessary to compare such parameters of cars as interior, specifications, cross-country ability, speed and fuel consumption, equipment and price.

Lada Vesta x Rey photo prices characteristics

The appearance of a car is the first thing a buyer pays attention to. That is why, to compare two cars, it is necessary to compare their body and interior. As mentioned above, the Lada Vesta is produced as a sedan. As for the Lada X-Ray, it is produced only in the form of a hatchback. Therefore, when choosing a car, you should immediately take into account the purpose of its use, and then decide on the type of body.

If we consider these models by size, the situation here is as follows:

  1. Vehicle length. For Vesta the length is 4,410 mm, for X-Ray - 4,165 mm. The difference is quite small - 25 cm, but it has important point in determining the appearance of the car.
  2. Vehicle width. Regarding the width, both models are the same – 1,764 mm.
  3. Machine height. It is worth noting that xRay is 8 cm taller than Vesta, the width of the models is 1,570 mm and 1,497 mm, respectively.
  4. Wheelbase. Here the hatchback is 4 cm behind the sedan – 2,592 mm and 2,635 mm, respectively.
  5. Clearance. In this xRay characteristics Vesta wins: 195 mm versus 178 mm.
  6. Volume luggage compartment : 480 l. Vesta and 361 l. at xRay.
  7. Weight. It is worth noting that xRay has a smaller mass - 1,190 kg, in contrast to Vesta - 1,230 kg.

When purchasing a car, it is necessary to determine which of the listed characteristics are most important to the buyer. If the space in the cabin, the length of the car and wheelbase, then you should choose Vesta.

If trunk volume and ground clearance are priorities, then you should look at X-Ray. It is worth noting that X-Ray also has such a feature as if you fold the back seat. Unfortunately, you can't do this trick with a sedan.

Considering the general appearance of the car, we can say that the models have a large number of common features. They were designed in the new style of the AvtoVAZ plant. The front of the cars is almost identical and has the following features:

  • round fog lights;
  • lines depicting the letter X;
  • a radiator grille that merges into a single unit with the bumper air intake;
  • sloping hood;
  • stylish and modern optics.

Lada X Rey and Lada Vesta photo

However, there is a slight difference: if you look at the Lada X-Ray from the side, the front part of the model becomes more “flattened”.

When looking at the cars, the signature lines in the shape of the letter X immediately catch your eye. They produce a stunning effect, but visually they make the model shorter. This is especially noticeable on the Lada X-Ray.

It is worth noting that X Ray has negative quality– small wheels. Too large arches for basic 15-inch wheels do not suit buyers. And therefore, after purchasing, many immediately change the wheels to 17-inch ones. Lada Vesta looks much better in this regard.

Interior of Lada X-Ray and Lada Vesta

Concerning interior decoration models, it produces a pleasant effect. The cars look quite impressive, it is worth noting that the similarity of the models is immediately noticeable. General style of the dashboard, dashboard with wells, elongated air deflectors, center console, almost identical steering wheel, comfortable seats, a rear sofa with a harmonious profile.

In addition, cars have such positive quality, like visibility. Side mirrors large enough to allow a good view of the situation from behind.

Don’t forget that Vesta is a sedan, so there is quite a bit more space in the rear cabin. X Ray wins with his height.

Technical characteristics of the Lada Vesta and Lada X-Ray models

Appearance, of course, plays a big role, but true car enthusiasts are interested in technical characteristics.

Engine characteristics

As for engines, the Lada X-Ray still has the advantage. The manufacturer offers a choice of 3 at once, which cannot be said about the Lada Vesta, since there is no choice here, and only one engine is offered.

If we talk about general outline, then for both cars it is produced domestic engine VAZ-21129 series. Engine power is 106 Horse power. The unit has a reliable and simple design: 4 cylinders and 16 valves, as well as a complex distributed injection fuel.

  • The Lada Vesta can be accelerated to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds, the X-Ray in 11.4 seconds, despite such a small power.
  • As for the maximum speed, the difference is small. X Ray overtakes Vesta by 1 km/h (176 versus 175 km/h).
  • Fuel consumption also has a slight difference: Vesta - 9.3/6.9/5.5 liters, X-Ray - 9.3/7.2/5.9 liters.

However, Lada X-Ray can offer its customers several more engines with 110 and 122 horsepower. The first option reaches speeds of up to 184 km/h and has a volume of 1.6 liters. The second one is a little more powerful: the maximum speed here reaches 186 km/h, the volume is 1.8 liters. As for fuel consumption, it is almost the same for both cars.

Characteristics of gearboxes

Both cars have identical transmissions. Both models have a robotic gearbox. The only difference here is that Vesta can be equipped with either a domestic or French transmission. X-Ray only has French ones.

In general, the gearboxes operate smoothly, without gear slippage or unpleasant noise. What’s typical is that you won’t find a classic automated gearbox on any model. In order to save money, it was installed robotic box gears, which affects the ride - more jolts and jerks, delayed reaction to reverse gear. However, you can get used to it.

Model suspension characteristics

Both models have front-wheel drive. And although some claim that X Rey is a crossover, there is no four-wheel drive a priori. As for the chassis design, it is identical here. Spring front suspension with stabilizer and MacPherson struts. At the rear there is only a torsion beam without a multi-link.

Cross-country ability of Lada Vesta and X-Ray

The manufacturers stated that both car models are fully compliant and fully suitable for our conditions. highways. Stiff suspension and elastic rear beam ensures a smooth ride and cross-country ability even on the most bumpy road sections. However, based on the size of the ground clearance, the Lada Vesta can sit on the bottom during heavy snowfall or rainy weather. The difference of 21 mm can make a significant difference. Therefore, cross-country ability is still better with X-Ray.

Equipment and prices of Lada Vesta and Lada X-Ray models

If we consider similar levels of the base models, then the Lada X-Ray has a cost more than the Lada Vesta - 589 thousand rubles versus 529. If we look at the top, the prices here also differ: Lada X-Ray - 742 thousand, Lada Vesta - 672 thousand.

If the buyer wants a metallic color, then the additional payment is the same - 10 thousand rubles. However, Vesta offers a branded color “Lime” for 30 thousand rubles.

As for the configuration of cars, Vesta wins here, since it offers 7 types, X-Ray - only 4.

At the end of August, Yandex officially replaced the thematic citation index (TIC) with the site quality index (QI). Updating the parameter is important for optimizers and website owners.

To bookmarks

If TIC is only the quality of incoming links, then IKS is to a greater extent reflects the quality of site traffic.

The Yandex help says:

Description of the ICS in the Yandex help

How to check ICS

You can check the site’s ICS on the page in the “Webmaster” following the link: webmaster.yandex.ru/sqi/?host=(site url).

ICS indicator for Sape.ru link exchanges

Our research

Sape is the largest exchange in RuNet, so we simply had to analyze the sites that participate in our system.

Currently, more than 600 thousand sites have been added to the system. Most of them did not undergo strict moderation; some were deactivated by the user or due to filters being applied. In reality, there are now more than 114 thousand active sites on the exchange for posting links. And it was the active and accessible sites that we studied using the ICS.

What questions did we try to answer during the analysis:

  1. Is there a relationship between TIC and ICS? Is this parameter an equivalent replacement for the TIC for pricing for placing links and articles?
  2. What correlation is there between ICS and other website parameters?
  3. How objectively is the ICS now calculated, and should it be trusted?

Is there a relationship between TIC and ICS?

The last time the TIC indicator was recalculated in Yandex was in November 2017. These values were recorded and are still used to filter sites, currently out of 114,616 sites:

Sape site database by TIC

The breakdown for the ICS parameter is as follows:

Sape platform database for ICS

ICS > 0 for 69% of sites, TIC > 0 for 51% of sites.

At first glance, Yandex distributes ICS to sites much more readily than TIC. But not everything is so obvious. During a detailed assessment of the data, we noticed that for subdomains of the site the ICS is calculated the same as for the main domain:

ICS on subdomains is equal to ICS of the main domain

At the same time, sites on the domain.narod.ru ( former project"Yandex", now Ucoz) the IKS parameter is calculated correctly for each subdomain:

ICS on narod.ru sites is calculated for each subdomain

Other website builders (for example, okis.ru) do not calculate ICS for subdomains:

All okis.ru subdomains have an IKS of 2300

It is likely that in the near future Yandex will begin to correctly calculate the IKS indicator not only for projects affiliated in the past, but for now, for a better assessment, we will exclude 3+ level domains from the analysis and re-examine the sample of the remaining 89,877 sites:

TIC = 0 - 37,761.
TIC > 0 - 52,116.

X = 0 - 31,280.
ICS > 0 - 58,597.

Now ICS > 0 for 65%, TIC > 0 for 58% of sites. The ratio leveled off significantly after excluding subdomains (IC was > 0 in 69%, TIC > 0 in 51% of sites).

Let's look for intersections among these groups:

TIC = 0, X = 0 - 14,823.
ICS > 0, TIC > 0 - 42,110.

TIC = 0, XI > 0 - 16,487.
ICS = 0, TIC > 0 - 16,457.

The majority of sites that had a positive TIC now have a positive TIC - 46% of sites.
The minimum value of both TIC and ICS is 10. Let's take a closer look at our database, taking into account this borderline value:

ICS > 10 - 21 646
TIC > 10 - 30 307
ICS = 0, TIC = 0 - 14,823 sites

X = 10, TIC = 10 - 11,268 (!) sites.
X > 10, TIC > 10 - 14,318 (!) sites.

ICS = 0, TIC = 10 - 5606 sites.
ICS = 0, TIC > 0 - 4430 sites.

ICS = 10, TIC = 0 - 14,133 sites.

A very serious intersection of platforms for TIC = IKS = 10 - 13%, which proves the relative similarity of the algorithm’s operation at borderline values.

The average TIC for sites > 10 is 104.28, the average TIC for sites > 10 is 91.28. The values are quite close to each other. This and the above fully prove that new parameter ICS can fully replace the TIC for pricing sites in the relevant services, and can also be used as a metric for selling a site for money making.

Correlation with other parameters

The Yandex search engine claims that when calculating parameters, it takes as a basis “the site’s audience” and “the level of trust of the site on the part of ... Yandex.” Let's check these statements by considering the correlation of the ICS from the following metrics:

  • site traffic;
  • number of pages in the Yandex index;
  • dependence of the ICS on the AGS filter.

ICS versus website traffic

Each site in the Sape system places links by installing the appropriate code in the site template. Several years ago, after numerous studies, my team and I came to the conclusion that links that are placed on visited pages work much more effectively to obtain a positive result in search engine promotion.

The installed code not only places links, but also analyzes page traffic, and also takes this data to calculate SR (Sape Rank), a metric for assessing document quality. We divided the analyzed sites on second-level domains into traffic ranges and calculated the average ICS for them:

Dependence of ICS on website traffic

Yandex’s statement is absolutely correct: the larger the site’s audience, the higher the IKS parameter is calculated.

ICS versus the number of pages in the Yandex index

“The level of trust in a site” on the part of a search engine is a very vague formulation. But if Yandex indexes a site and adds tens, hundreds, thousands of pages to its index, then it is reasonable to assume that there is trust in the site.

In a similar way, we divide the analyzed base of Sape sites into ranges based on the number of pages in the search engine index and compare them with the calculated ICS value:

Dependence of ICS on the number of pages in the Yandex index

Yandex's statement can be considered fair; we see a clear dependence of the growth of the ICS on the growth in the number of pages in the Yandex index. Work to increase the number of pages in the index that will generate traffic and, as a result, a higher IQ.

It is worth noting that among the 75 sites that are completely absent from the Yandex index, 11 had a positive ICS, four of them had an ICS greater than 10. What other factors, besides traffic and the number of pages in the index, lead to an increase in ICS, time will tell.

ICS vs AGS filter

A site may receive a negative “trust level” if it falls under a filter search engines. Among the 89,877 sites, there were 3,005 sites that are under the AGS filter.

Interesting fact: of these 3005 sites, 2499 had an ICS > 0, of which 325 had an ICS > 10. That is, the share of sites with a positive ICS among the filtered sites was 83%, which is significantly higher than the proportion of sites with a positive ICS in general in the SAPE database - 69 %.

Conclusion: the AGS filter does not affect the calculation of the ICS in any way, unlike the TIC, which ceased to be displayed. And the question remains of how to check in the future whether a filter is applied to the site. Now this can be done through bar-navig.yandex.ru, but how long this option will remain is unclear, since checking the TIC through webmaster.yandex.ru/tic/ already redirects to checking the ICS.

Should I trust the new ICS parameter?

Our research showed that there are questions regarding the calculation of ICS:

  • the values of subdomains and the main domain are the same;
  • calculated for sites that are not in Yandex or without traffic;
  • often found on sites with filters.

But despite this, this metric is significantly more objective than the TIC, which has not been updated for almost a year. We believe that in the near future the algorithms for calculating ICS will be adjusted; this metric will become the main host parameter that is used to evaluate sites before placing links to them.

Moreover, it is stated that the ICS is updated once a month, so already in September we will be able to see the updated algorithm for calculating the ICS. We'll watch.

This study was aimed at understanding how objective it is to use ICS to filter donors for link building. We will consider the influence of the ICS of the promoted project on getting the top in our further research.

Korean cars have a strong foothold in domestic market. However Russian manufacturer auto tries its best to compete and releases one successful model after another. One of the most quality cars Lada X-Ray is considered from AvtoVAZ.

Crossover received good equipment and has a decent price. Key competitor Russian car stands Kia Rio. This article will help you decide which car: Kia Rio or Lada X Ray should be chosen for comfortable movement on Russian roads.

Popularity and dimensions of vehicles

Korean cars from the Kia concern have been conquering the market for a long time. Like the Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio is one of the top sellers.

Nevertheless, the prestige of the Korean manufacturer is still at a fairly low level, not reaching such famous concerns as Volkswagen, Honda and Mercedes.

AvtoVAZ, on the contrary, has only just entered the fight against foreign cars and so far it is much inferior to them. Domestic cars are seriously guilty of minor flaws and ill-conceived designs of running gear.

When choosing which is better: Lada X-Ray or Kia Rio, you should take into account the dimensions of the vehicles.

A car from a Korean manufacturer in hatchback body has the following dimensions:

  • length – 4,120 millimeters;
  • width – 1,700 millimeters;
  • height – 1,470 millimeters;
  • weight – 1,120 kilograms.

The wheelbase of the Kia Rio is 2,570 millimeters, and the ground clearance is 160 millimeters. The luggage compartment volume with the seats up in the hatchback is 389 liters.

The domestic car can boast of the following weight and size parameters:

  • length – 4,165 millimeters;
  • width – 1,764 millimeters;
  • height – 1,570 millimeters;
  • weight – 1,190 kilograms.

Wheelbase Lada X-Ray is 2,592 millimeters, and the ground clearance is 195 millimeters. Trunk volume in domestic crossover with raised rear seats equal to 361 liters.

According to the above data, it can be concluded that domestic car significantly larger in size and has significantly more high ground clearance. At the same time, the Korean vehicle is much smaller, but has a more capacious luggage compartment.

In general, it is difficult to determine which is better, since some people value compactness, while others want to drive a large car.

Car appearance

The Lada X-ray car produced by AvtoVAZ has an aggressive design. In addition to stylish appearance engineers decided to present stylish stampings on the body, fifteen-inch wheels and decorative trims.

Korean engineers decided to release more universal car with a calm design and thoughtful ergonomics. Among the body elements in the Rio hatchback, I would like to highlight the wide radiator grille, slanted headlights, branded linings and stylish wheels.

Technical characteristics of Kia Rio and Lada X Ray

Partially technical equipment Kia Rio looks more preferable. Buyers can choose Korean car due to a more sophisticated suspension, high-speed engine or modern transmission.

Unlike Kia, hatchback AvtoVAZ Lada X Ray does not have any attractive technical solutions.

Power plants

When comparing the Kia Rio and Lada X-Ray, it’s worth saying a few words about the engines.

The Kia car comes with the following power plants:

  1. 4 liter petrol engine with 107 horsepower.
  2. 6 liter engine with 123 horsepower.

The first installation option is installed on budget configurations Korean car. The 107-horsepower engine accelerates the vehicle to 100 kilometers in 11.6 seconds. Maximum speed movement is 185 kilometers per hour.

Special mention should be made of the very low fuel consumption, which when driving around the city does not exceed 8 liters per hundred kilometers.

Senior model power plant A Rio car equipped with a 123-horsepower engine is equal to 190 kilometers per hour. The increase in engine displacement had a slight effect on fuel consumption.

When driving around the city, the power plant is drained fuel tank by 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers traveled.

Domestic engineers equipped the Lada X-Ray with the following units:

The basic version of the power plant allows you to accelerate to 100 km/h in 11.4 seconds. The peak speed of a car with this engine is 174 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption in city traffic reaches nine liters per 100 kilometers.

Senior modification power unit accelerates the car to one hundred kilometers per hour in 10.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 185 kilometers per hour. Consumption practically did not increase compared to base engine and is 9.4 liters per hundred kilometers.

From the comparison it is obvious that, despite the larger volume, AvtoVAZ engines could not achieve worthy competition Korean analogues. The Kia Rio car has similar dynamics to Lada X Rey, but at the same time consumes significantly less fuel and develops a high maximum speed.

Gearboxes

Compare Lada x ray and Kia Rio used in vehicles gearboxes.

The domestic vehicle has:

  1. Five-speed manual transmission.
    This type of gearbox is installed on both engine modifications.
  2. Five-speed robotic manual transmission.
    The decision to use a robot instead of an automatic machine is explained by the pursuit of making the car as cheap as possible.

The Kia car can be equipped with the following transmissions:

  1. Five-speed manual transmission gear shift.
    This transmission option is used only for the younger 107-horsepower modification of the power unit.
  2. Four-speed automatic transmission.
    The junior automatic can only control a 1.4 liter engine.
  3. Six-speed manual transmission.
    The box comes only with a 123-horsepower engine.
  4. Six-speed automatic transmission.
    Modern automatic transmission works in tandem with an older version of the power plant.

It is thanks to the presence of a six-speed automatic transmission Kia car Confidently wins in the transmission comparison.

Car suspension

Structurally, car suspensions are no different. Both cars rear suspension represented semi-independent torsion beam, and the front one – shock absorber struts McPherson type.

When driving a car in Rio smooth road The suspension handles minor defects in the asphalt surface well. When driving into rough terrain, all impacts begin to be transmitted to steering wheel and make it difficult to drive.

In other words, Kia management Rio is problematic on rough terrain due to insufficient energy consumption and smoothness.

Behavior domestic car completely different. Thanks to the well-designed suspension, the Lada X-Ray calmly passes through areas of any complexity and practically does not feel minor irregularities. However, due to the significant ground clearance, the Lada exhibits roll when cornering.

The cross-country ability of the X-Ray car is beyond praise. Thanks to the high ground clearance the car easily climbs small obstacles, and ESC system allows you to drive to heights unprecedented for Kia.

Regarding the suspension Kia comparison and the Lada X Ray is a landslide victory for the domestic car.

Interior

The interiors of both cars are very similar. Rio and Lada Xray have a very ergonomic interior, thoughtful dashboard and a good layout of the rear seats.

Both cars can boast good back row armchairs and roomy luggage compartment. Among the shortcomings of the interiors, I would like to highlight the use of low-quality plastic cladding and savings on seat upholstery.

Options and prices

The Lada X-ray car is sold in three trim levels:

  1. Optima. The cost of this package is Russian market starts from 600,00 rubles.
  2. Luxury A car version with a luxury set of devices will cost at least 710,000 rubles.
  3. Exclusive. Maximum option Lada car XRay will empty your wallet in the amount of 806,000 rubles.

The Korean car has six trim levels:

  1. Comfort. The cost of such a car starts from 640,000 rubles.
  2. Audio comfort. An additional purchase of a radio will cost 40 thousand.
  3. Luxury The cost for this version of the car starts from 710,000 rubles.
  4. Prestige. This version will cost the buyer at least 776,000 rubles.
  5. Premium Maximum configuration costs from 876,000.
  6. Premium NaVi. This version of the car costs from 903,000 rubles.

Conclusion

The Kia Rio hatchback and Lada X-Ray cars are very similar. Both models provide good driving performance, good control over the car and excellent equipment.

The Rio is more suited to trail driving, while the X-Ray can show off its full strength when navigating rough terrain.
