- heat value: selected relative to the original in accordance with the correspondence table. Strict compliance is not required. You can choose either a little colder if you drive mainly on the highway or aggressively, or warmer if you drive for short runs, especially in winter.
- gap between the electrodes: preset by the manufacturer and indicated in the marking, it is advisable to choose spark plugs with a nominal gap of +/- 0.1 mm. If the manufacturer does not have the spark plug you like with the required gap, it can be adjusted by bending the side electrode within up to +/- 0.3 mm.
- type of electrodes: copper, platinum, iridium, thin, ultra-thin, with and without refractory soldering - this is what the manufacturer lures us with, promising improved performance.

  2. Check for spark. We unscrew the spark plug, put on a coil with a high-voltage wire and place it on the head of the block. We ask an assistant to crank the engine with the starter for several seconds; if the spark on the spark plug electrodes is dull, bluish and sluggish, it must be replaced.
  3. Spark plug tester. A convenient thing, made in the form of a pistol, into the barrel of which the test candle is inserted.
