The founder of the legendary brand, Enzo Ferrari, began his career as a designer and tester of Alfa Romeo cars. Enzo Ferrari chose a black prancing stallion on a golden background as his emblem. During his performance at the Ravenna race track, Enzo Ferrari met the hero's parents. It was they who invited him to depict their son’s black horse on a car, assuring him that it would bring good luck.

Since 1947, the production of “street” sports cars with the characteristic Ferrari badge began. A year later, the first victories were won in the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio races, and a little later the team’s triumph was reinforced by winning the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans competition, which was facilitated by the unsurpassed technical characteristics of Ferrari.

The Ferrari 340 America, which entered the Ferrari lineup in 1951 with a four-liter engine, was an incredible success in Europe and Asia, although it was originally intended for sale in the United States. Among the owners of the cars were the Emperor of French Indochina Bao Dai, the Dutch Prince Bernard, the Belgian King Leopold and the Italian Count Giovanni Volpi di Misrata.

When creating his road masterpieces, Enzo Ferrari resorted to the services of various design workshops. A long-term collaboration with Pininfarina began in 1954 with the release of the Ferrari 250 GT.

But the history of the formation of the Italian brand is also filled with tragic events: twelve Ferrari drivers died in world-class competitions alone, for which the Vatican newspaper dubbed Enzo “a modern-day Lucifer sacrificing his children.” Many did not understand the “old master,” who led a reclusive life, especially after the death of his 24-year-old son Dino as a result of a serious illness. The Dino model, which appeared in the early 70s with an engine unconventional for Ferrari, was created in his honor.

In 1988, at the Maranello plant, the gloomy Enzo died while fine-tuning the new Ferrari racing cars. The Commendatore’s last wish was that “the work should not stop for a minute.” Luca di Montezemolo has been the head of Ferrari since 1991, and in honor of the founder of the Italian company, the Ferrari Enzo model was built at the beginning of the 21st century. Therefore, as the logo of the brand (the founder) decided to choose a galloping stallion on a yellow background.

With this car, the company won the Targa Florio and Mille Miglia races, and a little later - the 24-hour race. The model was definitely a success, and an obvious one at that. So after it a new Ferrari car appeared - the 340 America.

Release 1975-1985

Without going too deep into history, it’s worth talking about more modern models. And the most expensive ones. And you can get closer to them through the history of those models that have been produced since 1975. Then it was a Ferrari car, known as the “400”. The car looked stylish - spectacular air intakes, beautiful headlights, four sports body. But no less attractive were its technical characteristics. A 4.8-liter V12 engine producing 340 horsepower - this figure made this car even more desirable for many potential buyers. But that is not all. The most important thing is the 3-speed automatic transmission known as GM Turbo-Hydramatic. Her Ferrari decided to borrow from a company called General Motors. Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

This is another legend of the Italian concern. This model was made in the body of a Gran Turismo class sports coupe. It has been produced since 2004. Manufacturers made the body using the latest modern technologies, using only these cool Ferrari cars in the manufacturing process. They turned out to be truly luxurious. Firstly, another landing system appeared - 2+2. Secondly, more than 70% of the entire body is power parts. The remaining 20% ​​or more are aluminum panels. This model deserves special attention. The car was officially presented in 2011. This model has two features that are fundamentally new for the concern. And they consist in the fact that the company decided to implement an all-wheel drive version and a supercar in a hatchback body.

This model replaced such a car as the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. Its maximum speed is 335 kilometers per hour, and to accelerate to one hundred, the car takes just over 3.5 seconds. This model is positioned as the most powerful and fastest all-wheel drive in the world. How much does a Ferrari cost? Its price is 300 thousand dollars. The cost is impressive, but it's worth it.

The car turned out to be practical - thanks to the all-wheel drive system, you can drive the car more confidently even in difficult weather conditions. No matter the snow or rain, the car will drive perfectly. In addition, this particular car has a naturally aspirated V12. Its volume is as much as 6.3 liters. This power unit produces 660 horsepower. And the engine operates under the control of a 7-speed robotic gearbox equipped with a dual clutch - like many other cars produced by this concern. The same is installed on the California and 458 Italia models.

“Ferrari Italia 458”

This car was presented to the world in 2009. Its manufacturers created it using a mid-engine design, due to which it is possible to achieve the most optimal weight distribution on both axes. This car was developed jointly with the famous Pininfarina studio. Interestingly, the 458 Italia is the first car in the entire concern’s program equipped with an engine with direct fuel injection. What about the engine? It's as powerful as many other Ferrari powertrains. 570 “horses”, acceleration to hundreds - 3.4 seconds, and maximum - 325 km/h. This is not the most powerful model, but one of the most impressive and, by the way, economical. This car requires 13.7 liters per 100 km. And this is less than many of its predecessors.
